EA FC 25 will feature a huge roster of licensed teams and leagues, but does that mean that the Brazil national team and domestic league will return?

Brazil are one of the iconic international sides in football, producing Icons of the game like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, as well as modern superstars like Neymar Jr. However, both the national squad and Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A league were missing from FC 24, much to the disappointment of fans.

Are Brazil returning in EA FC 25?

No, we do not expect Brazil to feature in EA FC 25. Although this hasn’t been officially announced by the devs, the national team and domestic league were not mentioned in the blog confirming this year’s licenses.

On top of that, neither appears in the Closed Beta that has been running since August 6. Although it’s just a trial version, it features all of the teams we can expect to see in the final game, including the generic versions of AC Milan and Inter Milan, who are also unlicensed this year.

This means that Brazil kits will be unavailable in Ultimate Team and you won’t be able to use the side in international tournaments. It also means that clubs like Fluminense and Sao Paulo won’t feature in Career Mode or Kick-Off.

Whereas club teams will often be replaced by generic versions to ensure that the leagues are still full, national teams rarely get the same treatment. This is because they can be easily swapped in international competitions in Career Mode with the explanation that they didn’t qualify.

The good news is that Brazilian players who ply their trade outside of their domestic league are unaffected, so superstars like Vinicius Jr and Neymar will still appear.

Why can’t you play as Brazil in FC 25?

If Brazil doesn’t feature in FC 25 it will be due to licensing issues. While details of these agreements are rarely shared with players, the most likely explanation is that the Confederation of Brazilian Football (CBF), the governing body of football in the country, haven’t sold the licenses for the league or national side to EA Sports.

The reason for this is likely because of the CBF’s deal with Komani to let them use their teams in eFootball instead. Brazil’s national team is available in eFootball with licensed kits, while the likes of Santos and Flamengo are official partner clubs.

With this in mind, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Brazil in the EA Sports FC series until Konami give up the licenses and a deal can be struck with EA Sports.

If you want to know more about individual players featuring in FC 25, here’s whether Endrick and Lamine Yamal will be joining the ever-growing roster.
