Division Rivals will remain the central competitive mode in EA FC 25 Ultimate Team, offering the most attainable opportunities for top-tier rewards.

The devs revealed several new features in the July 18 Community Update and Ultimate Team Deep Dive, including Rivals checkpoints and new rewards. They also provided details on Division placement from FC 24 to the new title.

Here’s everything we know so far about FC 25 Division Rivals.

EA FC 25 Rivals points system & weekly rewards

Division Rivals rewards will no longer be determined by the amount of wins you earn. Instead, Rivals will base weekly rewards on points.

Players will earn three points for a win and one point for a draw. This system resembles the one currently used in Champions, where achieving a draw can have a major impact, helping you secure the points needed to earn maximum rewards.

EA FC 25 reduces the total number of checkpoints in Division Rivals to “ensure you face opponents of similar skill and avoid getting stuck in a division that doesn’t match your current level.”

Relegation also returns in Rivals. Divisions 1 and 2 won’t have Checkpoints, so “losing a match at the beginning of a Division will result in being relegated to the end of the previous Division.” However, once you reach Elite, you can’t be relegated until the season ends.

EA FC 25 will use your highest Division achieved in FC 24 for Division Placement to start off the new title. This means you won’t have to start from the bottom when the game launches. Instead, the game will match players of a similar level, allowing them to earn “higher tier rewards” faster.

Keep in mind that the blog post states the Division Placement tuning isn’t final and is subject to change.

We’ll continue to update this guide once new details regarding Rivals are revealed. Meanwhile, check out all editions and pre-order rewards and the league, team, and competition licenses.
