EA Sports FC 25 is set to be the next installment in the football franchise, following on from EA FC 24. Several leaks for the new game have popped up, so here’s everything we know about EA FC 25.

EA FC 24 was the first game in the series to launch under the new name, kicking off a fresh era for the publisher’s long-running football game franchise. Now, with the Ultimate Team season winding down as the last few promos roll out, fans around the world are looking ahead to EA Sports FC 25.

Here’s everything we know about EA FC 25 so far.

Is there an EA FC 25 release date?

There is currently no official release date for EA FC 25, but it will likely arrive towards the end of September. Based on EA FC 24, which launched on September 29, we expect it to drop on Friday, Septemeber 27, with an early access period starting the week before.

This also lines up with a leak from ‘FUTZONEFIFA’ who claimed a September launch had been locked in, as well as EA’s own financial report which confirms a Q2 release, placing it between July 1 and October 1.

However, nothing has been confirmed and this is just speculation for now, so the devs could easily decide to release the new title earlier or push it into October.

Just like the release window speculation for EA FC 25, FUTZONEFIFA on X posted about the expected release window for the official announcement. According to the renowned leaker, “EA FC 25 will be announced in July.”

Alongside the announcement, the leaker also revealed that the pre-orders and reveal trailer will drop in early July 2024 as well.

EA FC 25 platforms

EA FC 25 will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC when it arrives, as each new installment always comes to the most up-to-date platforms. Historically, a PS4 and Xbox One version have also been released, allowing players on last-gen consoles to hit the pitch. But we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to know for sure.

Previous entries in the series, including EA FC 24, have also come to Nintendo Switch as the ‘Legacy Edition,’ which costs less but lacks some of the newer features. That being said, the response to the Switch port has been fairly negative, so it’s unknown if they’ll try again with EA FC 25.

EA FC 25 expected modes

Although EA Sports FC 25 is yet to be revealed, it’s expected to come with all the core modes that have become series staples, such as:

  • Kick Off
  • Ultimate Team
  • Career Mode
  • Volta
  • Pro Clubs
  • Online Seasons

Of course, the devs could introduce a brand-new mode this time around to keep things fresh, while there will no doubt be plenty of additions to make the existing ones feel new.

EA FC 25 leaks

Although details on EA FC 25 are scarce, leaks are beginning to emerge about what the new game could have in store. The biggest so far is a report from SportsGamersOnline, which claimed that a major AI overhaul is in the works that could improve the CPU across all modes.

It will reportedly make the opposing team and your teammates more intelligent when reacting to the game. So, they will make more effective runs, respond to the ball in a more realistic way, and be less likely to leave huge gaps.

Alongside AI changes, leaks have surfaced about new Icon managers in Ultimate Team as well, as many expect to see coaches like Sir Alex Ferguson coming in as an Icon manager.

Additionally, FUTZONEFIFA has also confirmed that managers will have “their own Tactical Visions,” just like in Career Mode. For example, Tiki Taka style for Guardiola, Park The Bus for Mourinho, and more. Another massive leak about managers in UT is that they will not be price-capped at 5K, like in EA FC 24.

That’s everything we know about EA FC 25 so far. We’ll be sure to update this page with all the latest announcements and leaks when they arrive. In the meantime, make sure that you are well caught up with the ongoing Team of the Season promo, including all Ultimate TOTS cards, and our Showdown Series tracker.
