With EA FC 25‘s September 27 release date locked in, leaks have started to reveal its mechanics but rumors of a Premium Season Pass have left players furious.

According to reliable leaker FUT Sheriff, EA FC 25 will have two distinct season passes. Although one will be free, the other will be a paid version, and will likely have significantly better rewards.

In every previous title, Ultimate Team seasonal rewards were free, and players could earn them by simply getting the required XP. There were various methods to earn XP in UT, but none of them necessarily involved spending money.

Yes, you could definitely buy some kits with FC Points to gain a bunch of extra XP, but that was entirely optional and most people tend to spend in-game coins instead.

Fans were extremely annoyed by the leak, as one player commented that this was “shocking” and the upcoming game would be the “worst ever on every level.”

“Might as well reword that and say we will have a s**t pointless pass, and the pass we already get now for free will be charged for,” added another aggravated fan, while others outright accused the title of being “pay to win.”

FIFA and EA FC have always been accused of being pay to win due to their microtransactions, however, it seems like no one expected such a decision from the devs. One of the easiest ways of getting more packs was through the season pass in previous titles, but that might no longer be the case.

“Awful. Pressuring people to spend even more money on the game,” added another player in a comment with over 3000 likes at the time of writing.

However, keep in mind that this is still a leak, and has not been confirmed by EA Sports, so take this piece of news with a grain of salt. Only the reveal trailer has been released so far but we’ll continue to learn more as we approach its early access launch on September 20.
