EA FC 25 leak claims Career Mode finally lets you play as an Icon

This bit of information came from user ‘FGZNews‘ on X, who’s been credited with several other leaks including reports of the new Penta game mode. In a post, the user stated, “Icons will be available in Player Career Mode in EA FC 25. You can play as an Icon in Player Career.”
While they didn’t divulge other details, it looks like the upcoming title could let you start a Career Mode save and play as any Icon of your choosing. It’s unclear how this would function, but players will likely be able to use the likeness of players such as Pele, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, and more.
Based on the premise, it is safe to assume that an Icon Career Mode will work just like picking an existing player. This means that you’ll inherit the pre-determined ratings, stats, and PlayStyles from their Ultimate Team cards and start your journey with a world class talent.
It’ll be interesting to see if the devs implement any features that will be specific to an Icon Career Mode save. There’s also the potential for a guided path, allowing players to experience the illustrious career of these legends, including memorable moments, major transfers, and their biggest honors.
Fans of Player Career Mode will welcome the option with open arms, especially since the game mode hasn’t seen any major changes for several years now.
