EA FC 25 arrives on September 20 and leaks appear to have revealed that the fan-favorite Road to the Knockouts promo will return.

Ultimate Team is all about building your dream squad full of the world’s best players, and promos keep the mode feeling fresh by introducing new special cards. Many of these will be new additions we haven’t seen before, but there are some staples that return each year – such as Road to the Knockouts.

So, here’s everything you need to know about EA FC 25 Road to the Knockouts.

When is FC 25 RTTK?

There is currently no official release date for the Road to the Knockout promo in EA FC 25, we expect it to arrive on Friday, September 27, 2024. This comes after leaker ‘FUT Sheriff’ revealed the card designs, which suggests that it will likely be one of the first events available to all players.

In EA FC 24, the Nike Mad Ready promo went live on the same day that early access started, then RTTK dropped the following week on global launch day. With this in mind, we expect the devs to stick to a similar schedule this year, with the leaked Total Rush event likely to drop on September 20.

EA FC 25 Road to the Knockouts explained

Road to the Knockouts cards are live items that receive rating and stat upgrades based on that player’s performance in the Champion’s League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, or Women’s UCL.

This usually revolves around the player’s team winning a certain number of games, or qualifying for the knockout stage. For example, in FC 24, players needed to win two of their group stage matches for a +1 In-Form upgrade, and another identical boost if they made it out of the group.

However, the Champions League has been reworked this season, as the group stage has been replaced by the ‘league phase.’ In this new format, teams will play eight games against eight different opponents, rather than the home and away fixtures against three teams we saw in previous years.

With this in mind, the RTTK promo will have to be reworked slightly to account for the additional games but how the devs tackle this remains to be seen.

In the meantime, be sure to check out how you can earn rewards early through the FC 24 Pre-Season event, and all of the licensed leagues and stadiums due to appear in EA FC 25.
