The highly-awaited Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will be released on June 21. Described by FromSoftware as their biggest expansion yet, it will introduce players to the Land of Shadow, bring tons of new weapons to the game, and add multiple grueling boss encounters.

If you’re just as eager to play the expansion, here’s how you can preload Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree on all platforms and the game’s file size.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree preload date

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be available for preload on June 19. The preload option will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. At the moment, there is no word of a preload option for players on Steam, and we’ll be sure to update this article once more information is announced.

How to preload Elden Ring DLC

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree file size

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has a file size of around 16.5GB according to ‘PlayStation Game Size’ on X. The size could vary slightly depending on the platform but it should fall within the same ballpark.

Despite packing in what seems to be a ton of new content, the DLC’s file size remains quite modest. For comparison, the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 weighed in at around 33GB, more than double the size of Shadow of the Erdtree. However, it has to be said that FromSoftware titles have never been demanding when it comes to disk space.

That was how to preload Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. While you wait for the DLC to drop, here’s how to prepare for the expansion, the best Bleed build, and the best Rune farming spot in the game.
