Fortnite Peter Griffin leak revealed as elaborate hoax

A Fortnite survey revealed some new skins that would be added to the game, including Peter Griffin from Family Guy, but this was supposedly a joke by Epic Games.

There have been a ton of crossover and collaborations with Fortnite in recent times, with Lebron James arriving as an ICON Series skin and superheroes like Gamora and Superman joining the fray.

More crossover skins were uncovered by data miners from a survey by Epic Games. One of these was Peter Griffin from Family Guy, but it turns out that the developers may have just been having fun with leakers.

The leaked survey listed various influencers such as Charli D’Amelio and Dr. Lupo, along with Peter Griffin from the animated comedy series. According to FNBRUnreleased, the Family Guy files were left by the devs intentionally.

Family Guy being inside the game files was supposedly a joke by Epic Games to troll leakers. This came as a blow to fans of the animated series, who were hoping to see the main character join Fortnite.

“Was told a year ago by someone at Epic that they would start trolling dataminers,” tweeted the leaker. “This is what he was talking about.”

The survey also listed skins from franchises like Lord of The Rings and Spongebob Squarepants, so it’s currently unclear whether or not those were also part of the hoax.

Epic Games are always interested in player feedback when making new additions to Fortnite, and they sent out a similar survey three months ago, which listed various skin collaborations like Naruto and Pewdiepie.

It’s still possible that they might add Peter Griffin to the game at some point in the future. Until then, you can try unlocking the Fortnite Ryan Reynolds Free Guy skin and emote.
