Warzone M16 and FFAR nerfed

Warzone Season 3 is here, and it’s brought a ton of weapon balance changes with it, including nerfs to the dominant M16, AUG, and FFAR. Here’s every weapon buff and nerf in Warzone Season 3.

Warzone Season 3 is officially here. On top of new Operators and weapons, a ton of adjustments have been made to Black Ops Cold War’s weapons in the battle royale.

While certain Cold War weapons were underpowered compared to their Modern Warfare counterparts, others killed way faster than the norm. As of Season 3, the AUG, M16, and FFAR have finally been nerfed, and other weapons such as the Krig 6 and Cold War AK-47 have been buffed.

Here’s every change that has been made to weapons and attachments in Warzone Season 3.

PPSH and Swiss K31 added to Warzone

As with all new Call of Duty seasons, players have been given some new weapons to play with in Season 3. These are the classic PPSH SMG and a new bolt-action sniper, the Swiss K31.

Swiss K31 in Cold War and Warzone

Both of these weapons are available in the Season 3 Battle Pass and can be equipped in both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. You’ll unlock the PPSH quickly at Tier 15, and the Swiss K31 can be unlocked later at Tier 31.

M16, AUG, FFAR 1 nerfed in Warzone Season 3

The highlight of this update is the nerfing of the M16, AUG, and FFAR 1. These weapons dominated the entirety of Season 2, with their incredibly low time-to-kill making them the only viable choices.

Raven Software finally tamed the beasts, lowering the Tactical Rifles’ damage and fire rate. With these changes, the devs said, “you will now need to aim deliberately if you intend to kill quickly.”

Although the FFAR has received nerfs in the past, this one appears to be final. They’ve reduced its damage across the board and reduced its ADS speed again. Raven said that “the FFAR 1 will remain a respectable option following this change, but it should now be a playstyle preference rather than a loadout necessity.”

Raven Software also proactively nerfed the Groza in anticipation of it becoming the new meta after the FFAR’s nerf. As streamer NICKMERCS explained, the Groza was a rival to the FFAR, and Raven was aware of this. They increased its recoil and lowered its ADS speed and damage to “allow for some healthy competition in this weapon category.”

Developers also expect the CR-56 AMAX to be the dominant gun at the beginning of Season 3. They said, “we are keeping a close eye on the AMAX. No king rules forever.

All Warzone Season 3 weapon changes

As well as nerfing Season 2’s most powerful weapons, they buffed some outliers and added a new attachment bonus – Position Concealment.

Activision’s in-game currency lets players purchase cosmetics for their characters, and we’ve got everything you need to know about CoD Points prices, how to buy them, and all the items you can spend them on.

Call of Duty offers a huge palette of extra goodies you can add to your game, requiring players to spend their own currency named CoD Points to acquire them.

CoD Points can be purchased in-game using the menu systems in games like Vanguard or Warzone or through console marketplaces like the PS Store or Xbox Marketplace.

The gaming landscape has changed over the years with the incorporation of microtransactions and live-gaming services. Many games offer extra content – with cosmetics being a big proponent of this. With Vanguard and Warzone offering special Attack on Titan and Christmas skins as well as unique weapon Blueprints for popular weapons, it becomes easy to see why players would want to spend CoD Points.

Here are the different prices for the various CoD Points bundles:

  • 200 CoD Points: $1.99 / £1.79

How to buy COD Points

You can be very flexible with how you buy COD Points as there are a few different ways to do so. To make sure you’re buying them for the right platform, just double-check with our guide on transferring COD Points across platforms.

There are four ways you can buy COD Points:

  • PC players can purchase CoD Points on the Battle.net website
  • PS4 & PS5 players can purchase CoD Points in the PS Store on their console, or on the PlayStation website
  • Xbox Series X, Series S, or One players can buy CoD Points on the Xbox Marketplace on their console, or the official Microsoft Store website
  • Select physical retailers stock vouchers and gift cards with a code that players can redeem for CoD Points.

Where to spend CoD Points

Spending your CoD Points is incredibly easy, with players able to purchase cosmetic bundles and Blueprints in the in-game store.

The stores are available in Vanguard, Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare, so you can kit out your character regardless of your preferred title.

Do CoD Points carry over across games?

The good news is that your CoD Points will transfer across your Call of Duty games, as they are linked to your Activision account.

Players who still have CoD Points in their account from Black Ops Cold War don’t need to worry, as they will automatically be in your account when turning to Vanguard.

What can I buy with COD Points?

Call of Duty’s currency is used to primarily buy two things: the Battle Pass for the current season and Bundles containing a variety of items.

Battle Pass

Vanguard Season 1 Battle Pass

A Battle Pass is a paid Tier system that allows regular players to earn dozens of extra rewards and cosmetics for essentially playing the game.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific are currently in Season 1 at the moment. Both titles are currently running in tandem with each other and share the same Battle Pass.

It features 100 Tiers for players to smash their way through the course of Season 1, and if players are committed enough, they can actually earn enough CoD Points, through leveling up the pass, to get the next one for free.

You can buy the Vanguard & Warzone Season 1 Battle Pass via a couple of different methods:

Bundles

Attack on Titan bundle CoD

The other main content you can buy is a wide range of Bundles and Operator Bundles. These special bundles vary in price, and each comes with its own unique items.

The collectibles you can expect to find are Calling Cards, Emblems, Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Weapon Charms, and more.

JGOD reveals fastest “TTK” Welgun loadout that beats the MP40

JGOD has revealed his best class setup for the Warzone Welgun when it comes to TTK, claiming it even outperforms the MP40.

Published

Warzone Pacific has a lot of stellar options for close-quarters combat, however, JGOD claims this Welgun loadout is built for a fast TTK, edging it over the MP40 in the meta.

With the mid-season update for Warzone Pacific, players were gifted a brand new SMG, the Welgun. Since its introduction, the Welgun has been a great option for players looking to use a long-range SMG.

Having said that, there are many ways players can change the Welgun, and JGOD has revealed the loadout you’ll need to make the Welgun an even more efficient TTK SMG than the MP40.

warzone welgun

According to JGOD’s latest video, the Welgun has the potential to beat the MP40 in terms of TTK with the correct attachments. This is pretty impressive, especially as the MP40 has been one of the best SMGs in the game for a while.

One thing that JGOD makes clear is that you will need to hit your chest, neck, and headshots in order to get the most out of the Welgun.

Here’s JGOD’s best TTK loadout for the Warzone Welgun.

JGOD’s Welgun loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 1

JGOD Warzone Welgun loadout
  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: 120mm Gawain Short
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Gawain Skeletal
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 9mm 64 Round Mags
  • Ammunition: Incendiary
  • Rear Grip: Taped Grip
  • Perk 1: Frenzy
  • Perk 2: Quick

First off, JGOD has opted for the Recoil Booster to increase the weapons fire rate and overall TTK in close combat. Then we have the 120mm Gawain Short barrel which JGOD recommends highly for those who want to use the weapon in tight spaces.

The Slate Reflector, M1941 Hand Stop, and Taped Grip will all help the weapon’s recoil, allowing you to control the massive 9mm 64 Round Mags you will be unloading onto enemies, as well as balancing the negative initial firing recoil you’ll get with the Gawain Skeletal stock.

The Incendiary ammo type will keep enemies burning after you lose their sight, which is so useful in close combat situations, especially as the negative bullet velocity won’t do much to stop you in close quarters.

Lastly, we have Frenzy for the first Perk and Quick for the second. Frenzy will keep your health at the max while taking down enemies, which combines nicely with Quick which will allow you to move fast and keep the enemy second-guessing your location.

Well there you have it, that’s JGOD’s best Welgun loadout for a faster TTK than the MP40. If you’re looking for a long-range LMG, check out our best Type 11 loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 1.

How to fix Warzone crashing & freezing issues on Xbox

Warzone has suffered a number of issues since the Pacific update on Xbox, so here’s how to stop it from crashing and freezing.

Published

on

Xbox players have been suffering from game-breaking crashing and freezing errors since Warzone’s Pacific update, but one simple solution can fix many of the issues.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 brought many changes the community was looking for, adding a brand-new map, a working anti-cheat, and removing Stopping Power once and for all. However, it’s also brought some of the worst glitches Warzone has ever seen, particularly on Xbox.

Thanks to glitches, Xbox players must have a Gold Subscription to play, have lost their 120 FPS mode, and can’t even play the game because of constant crashing and freezing issues.

Luckily, there’s a simple solution that should lessen the amount of freezing and crashing issues you’re experiencing.

How to stop Warzone crashing & freezing on Xbox

Plane flying on Warzone Pacific and Xbox Logo

To stop Warzone from crashing and freezing, don’t hit the Xbox home button while the Warzone application is open.

We recommend creating an Xbox Party before launching Warzone and then using Warzone’s Social tab to invite your friends to games.

This solution comes directly from Raven Software’s Trello board, where they acknowledged that “Players are reporting an issue where pressing the Xbox home button twice while in-game may cause instability.”

Raven said that the issue is caused by players hitting the Xbox home button twice, but many players have reported that issues crop up by pressing it once. So we recommend steering clear of the Xbox button and not pressing it at all.

Whether this will fix the issue where players can’t launch the game at all remains to be seen, but it should help out players who suffer from freezing and crashing while playing.

Raven Software has confirmed they’re investigating a number of Xbox Warzone glitches such as pressing the Xbox button, performance issues, and Xbox players’ Rebirth Island wins not tracking.

The next major Warzone update will be Season 2 in February, so hopefully, this update brings many much-needed fixes.
