Warzone Season 3 Reloaded buffs and nerfs

Warzone devs have continued their recent trend of making welcome weapon balance changes with each update, significantly buffing Cold War Sniper Rifles and nerfing the AK-74u in Season 3 Reloaded.

Warzone Season 3 Reloaded, the midseason update, has finally arrived. It’s brought the highly-anticipated 80s Action Hero event, welcome bug fixes, and even more weapon balance changes.

In the last major update, Raven Software outlined their goal of providing much more variety in weapon choice and increasing the skill gap, and weapon balance is arguably in the best place it’s ever been. This update continues that trend, creating more diversity in both the SMG and Sniper Rifle categories.

Here’s every weapon buff and nerf in Warzone Season 3 Reloaded.

Cold War Sniper Rifles buffed in Warzone

Although Treyarch hit Sniper Rifles hard in Black Ops Cold War, Raven Software have significantly buffed Sniper Rifles in the Season 3 Reloaded update.

Here’s every change made to Sniper Rifles following Season 3 Reloaded.

M82 buffed

Raven Software felt that the semi-automatic M82 Sniper Rifle was “much more satisfying to use as a heavier duty semi-auto Sniper.” To push the M82 in this direction, the devs increased its bullet velocity and extremity multipliers but decreased its rate of fire.

LW3 – Tundra buffed

Warzone’s devs noted that the only thing holding the LW3 Tundra back was its ADS (aim down sight) speed and aiming stability. To counter these negatives, the devs increased its aiming stability and added more attachments to improve ADS.

Swiss K31 buffed

Warzone Swiss K31

The Swiss K31 was built for quickscoping, being the ideal weapon for an aggressive Sniper. To make the “Swiss K31 feel a lot more like the lightweight, fast-handling, high-skill weapon it was meant to be,” Raven greatly increased its flinch resistance, ADS speed, and aiming stability.

ZRG 20mm buffed and nerfed

The heavy-duty ZRG 20mm has received the most significant weapon balance changes of all Cold War’s Sniper Rifles. With this update, Warzone devs were “doubling down on its identity as the highest caliber Sniper in Verdansk,” making you “really feel like you are firing anti-materiel rounds.”

To do this, they’ve made the weapon more powerful, increasing its bullet penetration and body shot multipliers, but also made it heavier by decreasing its ADS speed, bullet velocity, and movement speed.

SMG changes in Warzone Season 3 Reloaded

Alongside these Sniper Rifle changes, Raven Software also made some adjustments to Cold War’s SMGs in Warzone.

AK-74u buffed and nerfed

Similar to how they changed the ZRG 20mm, Warzone devs gave the AK-74u both buffs and nerfs to change its playstyle.

They felt it was acting too much like an Assault Rifle so made changes to bring it more in line with the other weapons in its class. To do this, they gave it “less bullet velocity, less damage range, and more sprint to fire speed.”

With these changes, they described the AK-74u as “the epitome of high-risk, high-reward SMGs.”

PPSH-41 buffed

Raven described how the PPSH was “on the brink of being able to contest some of the strongest Submachine Guns,” so they increased both its maximum damage and damage range.

They believe that “This damage bump will undoubtedly have the PPSh-41 joining other high tier SMGs as a contender for that top spot.”

Not only did Raven Software make significant changes to specific weapons, but they also delivered on the teased changes to Sniper Rifle attachments, bringing them more in-line with the most popular Modern Warfare attachments.

For all of these attachment changes and exact values on the weapon changes, here’s the full patch notes directly from Raven Software.

Submachine Guns

  • AK-74u
    • Neck multiplier increased from 1 to 1.4
    • Sprint to Fire Speed increased by 20%
    • Bullet Velocity decreased by 15%
    • Maximum damage range decreased by 25%
  • PPSh-41
    • Maximum damage increased from 27 to 28
    • Maximum damage range increased by 3.8%

Snipers

  • All Black Ops Cold War Sniper base optics have been adjusted.
  • Sniper Rifle Charlie (M82)
    • Bullet Velocity increased by 14%
    • Extremity multipliers increased from .9 to 1
    • Rate of Fire decreased from .33 to .83
  • LW3 – Tundra
    • Aiming Stability increased
  • Swiss K31
    • Flinch Resistance greatly increased
    • ADS Speed increased slightly
    • Aiming Stability increased
  • ZRG 20mm
    • Bullet Penetration increased
    • Upper Torso multiplier increased from 1.25 to 1.7
    • Lower Torso multiplier increased from 1.15 to 1.25
    • Extremity multipliers increased from .9 to 1
    • ADS Speed decreased by 4%
    • Bullet Velocity decreased by 2%
    • Move Speed decreased by 2%
    • ADS Move Speed decreased by 1%

Attachments

  • Muzzles
    • Flash Guard
      • Vertical Recoil Control increased slightly
    • Suppressor
      • No longer reduces Bullet Velocity
      • Now increases Bullet Velocity
      • Now increases ADS Speed
      • Now increases Sprint to Fire Speed
      • We expect this relatively unassuming change to have widespread effects. The Suppressor now offers you another viable attachment choice in the muzzle category with a focus on different stats. For example, where Bullet Velocity and Effective Damage Range are not a priority (e.g., Submachine Guns) you would almost certainly take the Suppressor. Or perhaps you have more than enough Bullet Velocity (e.g., ZRG 20mm) and you want to shore up a weakness in handling. These are the types of compelling decisions we want to continue to develop.
  • Lasers
    • SOF Target Designator (Snipers)
      • No longer increases Effective Damage Range
      • Now increases Aiming Stability
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier increased

    • Ember Sighting Point (Snipers)
      • No longer increases Effective Damage Range
      • Now greatly increases Aiming Stability
      • ADS Move Speed multiplier increased

    • Steady Aim Laser (Snipers)
      • No longer decreases Hip Spread
      • Now increases ADS Speed

    • Swat 5mW Laser Sight (Snipers)
      • No longer decreases Hip Spread
      • No longer decreases ADS Speed
      • Now increases Aiming Stability
      • Now greatly increases ADS Speed

    • Black Ops Cold War Snipers desperately needed more ‘value’ Attachments—namely, more Attachments that provide stats that are relevant to Snipers. We feel the changes to these Attachments and base Sniper optics will make Black Ops Cold War Snipers far more competitive and enjoyable to use.
  • Rear Grips
    • Airborne/GRU Elastic Wrap
      • Aiming Stability increased

Raven Software are still to deliver on teased buffs for “struggling” Modern Warfare weapons, so we’re likely to see that in a future update, or perhaps in Season 4.

Best Ghost loadout for CoD: Warzone Season 3

Having a strong Ghost class can help you perform much better in Warzone, so here is how to make the best Warzone Ghost loadout.

Best Warzone Ghost Loadout Class

Ghost is one of the most powerful perks in Call of Duty: Warzone, with players putting themselves at a disadvantage when they do not use it, so here is the best Warzone Ghost loadout you can use in the battle royale game.

Perks are some of the most powerful items in the world of Call of Duty: Warzone, as they give players beneficial bonuses that can be the difference between winning or losing a fight.

The Ghost perk has become one of the top perks players use in their loadouts in the Call of Duty battle royale thanks to its ability to keep players hidden from enemy UAVs and heartbeat sensors, which is very useful in a game like Warzone where knowing the location of your enemies can help win a fight.

With this in mind, we have gathered together the weapons and additional perks you should use to make the best Warzone Ghost loadout.

Best Warzone Ghost loadout

Using Ghost means that you can not take advantage of Overkill and have two main weapons for your loadout drop.

This is why we suggest using the CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifle from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Diamatti Pistol from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The CR-56 AMAX is still arguably the best Assault Rifle in Warzone, even after a couple of nerfs, and with its great damage output, it is a solid choice to have as your main weapon in the best Warzone Ghost loadout.

You can find the attachments for the AMAX you should use below:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Round Mags

Without Overkill, you will need a powerful secondary weapon for close-quarter battles. The Diamatti Pistol is a monster up close, and its burst fire can take down enemy players with just a couple pulls of the trigger, making it a perfect choice for your secondary weapon in a Ghost class.

You can find the attachments for the AMAX you should use below:

  • Muzzle: Sound Suppressor
  • Barrel: 7.2″ Reinforced Heavy
  • Laser: SOF Target Designator
  • Ammunition: STANAG 30 Rnd
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap

Best perks for Warzone Ghost class

While your second perk in this class is already selected as Ghost, you will need to make sure that your other two perks complement this class.

This is why you will be wise to have E.O.D. as your first perk, as it will reduce the amount of damage you take from enemy explosives, which can be the difference between winning or getting eliminated.

Now, most of the best loadouts will have Amped as the third perk, as it increases your weapon swap speed, which is essential in Warzone, where it can take some time for your character to switch weapons sometimes.

However, since you will be using the Diamatti Pistol in this class, you will not need Amped, as the switching speed to Pistols is plenty quick enough on its own.

This is why Battle Hardened is an excellent choice for your third perk, as it will reduce the effectiveness of enemy flash and stun grenades, which can easily save you from being eliminated by an enemy who has stunned or flashed you before a fight begins.

How to unlock Ghost

Players who would like to use this powerful perk will need to reach level 24, as this is the rank where Ghost will be unlocked and become available for you to use in your loadouts.

Warzone hacker openly uses cheats while streaming on Twitch

Warzone unfortunately has hackers, but it’s not everyday that one of them is showcasing it on Twitch, which recently caught the community’s attention.

Published

warzone hacker

A Warzone hacker was found cheating online while streaming to an audience on Twitch, seemingly not caring about the damage they are doing to the developers’ work and the community.

Raven Software is constantly combatting the hackers their game holds, even attempting “hardware bans” to those who cheat.

With the hackers becoming more abundant, even making their own operator skins, one has been caught streaming on Twitch, openly discussing his cheating with the chat.

warzone hacker

Warzone hacker found streaming on Twitch

The hacker found cheating on Twitch was “AGuyNamedCody,” who was streaming himself, eliminating enemies, and winning games with ease.

The hacker’s reason for cheating is extremely counterproductive, as he says, “I got tired of playing against cheaters, so I was like, oh I’ll make my own.”

The Reddit post by CorySellsDaHouse has received a lot of attention, with many in the comments directing hate towards the hacker. Warzone players are fed up with the game being abused by cheaters, especially on PC, so it seems players are taking out their anger on this hacker.

In the video, the hacker responds to a comment in the Twitch chat who asked: “So you ruin it for the folks who just wanna play and maybe have an hour a day?”

The hacker responded by saying: “Yeah, go find another game.”

This attitude towards ruining player experience shows how hackers like this have no shame in what they’re doing. They have nothing to lose, and as he says in the video if he gets banned, it takes him “two minutes to make a new account.”

Hopefully, something will be implemented for the Call of Duty battle royale that will make major progress in stopping hackers from populating servers, as cheating by players has been one of the main topics for Warzone since it was released.

5 things we want to see in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4

Verdansk ’84 has seen a big change for Warzone in Season 3. But despite new weapons and POIs, here are 5 things we’d like to see in Season 4.

Published

on

Warzone Downtown location

Warzone Season 4 is almost here, so we’re counting down the top five things we’d most like to see in the next major update for Call of Duty’s battle royale.

Warzone Season 3 is one of the most successful in the game’s short history. Whereas Season 2 rested on its laurels and became associated with its burst and FFAR meta, Season 3 majorly shook things up.

After the Nuke Event, Warzone took Verdansk back to 1984, added lots of new POIs for players to rotate around, and transformed the game’s meta into arguably the most stable and balanced. All the best Assault Rifle loadouts feature a multitude of weapons from the AMAX to the Kilo 141 to the AS Val to the Cold War AK-47.

But to continue Warzone’s success, here are the top 5 things we want to see in Warzone Season 4 and beyond.

5. Make rocks easier to traverse

Mara vaulting in Warzone

Despite being in 1984 and the rocks being slightly younger, better maintained, and haven’t fallen apart yet, they are still troublesome.

Getting caught next to rocks with the zone on your heels or enemies above you can leave you with little option other than running around until you can find an area you can actually climb.

We don’t necessarily want every single rock to be climbable, but in a big cliffside area, we feel there should be one or two footholds to climb. To compensate for this, a climbing animation could be put in place to penalize players ascending, in the same way, that rappeling leaves players vulnerable for a few seconds.

4. More Killstreak options

cod warzone killstreaks

Warzone’s offering of Killstreaks is so awkward. Again, you either go all-in, or you need to leave Killstreaks out altogether. The current offerings are mainly Precision and Cluster Strikes, neither of which are particularly effective and are practically signposted anyway.

UAVs are useful and not too overpowered as they can easily be counteracted, and drones aren’t used by anyone. There’s no excitement in finding one, which begs the question as to why they’re in the game in the first place.

At the very least, Raven Software should experiment with Sentry Turrets and perhaps Care Packages to give the player a random goodie e.g a loadout, UAV, etc. It’s an area of Warzone that could do with a shake-up.

3. Reduce Dead Silence and Stopping Power

Warzone dead silence

Stopping Power and Dead Silence abuse needs to stop, most importantly the latter. When it’s possible to find between five and ten different Dead Silence pickups per match, it’s time to put your foot down.

Once someone triggers Dead Silence, then it’s just over for anyone that gets in that person’s way as they literally make no sound. It’s completely unfair. The attacking player gains a ridiculous advantage, and they can do this multiple times per match if they search enough.

Stopping Power isn’t as bad, but when you get into a 1v1 with someone and you’re landing consistent headshots and still get downed because your opponent’s bullets were artificially stronger, then it’s frustrating.

2. More events like the 80s Action Hero Event

cod warzone nakatomi plaza

The 80s Action Hero Event was a breath of fresh air for many reasons. The addition of Rambo and John McClane as Operators for Cold War and Warzone was fabulous and a really solid scoop for Activision.

But not only did players get special skins to acquire and equip, but Warzone as a whole got an incredible new POI in the process – the legendary Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard.

It was incredibly exciting and many players would drop there regularly to try and be the first to acquire the building’s sacred treasure tucked away in the Vault. It added a whole other dimension to the game, and even after the Vault was closed, the location still remains popular.

Extra locations and POIs don’t need to all be included at once, drip-feeding them through limited events is another way to keep players invested.

1. Maintain Warzone’s meta and keep on top of it

CoD Warzone FFAR

Season 1 of Warzone eventually succumbed to the Black Ops Cold War DMR after the integration. Every man and his dog was using the DMR, leading to the term “DMRzone” being thrown around.

Then, Season 2 nerfed the DMR, but this led to players moving onto pastures new, and discovering burst weapons and the FFAR in the process. As a result, most loadouts contained either an AUG, M16, or FFAR. Once again, after many complaints, Raven nerfed all burst weapons and the FFAR.

Apart from a bit of the light being cast on the AMAX Assault Rifle, Season 3 of Warzone has been a joy for most players as there isn’t really one or two guns that tower above the rest. It’s meant a greater variety of loadouts, weapon choices, and long may it continue as Warzone enters Season 4.

With these five changes, Warzone Season 4 could be the game’s best season yet, plus we know some ways to make any future live event the best too!
