Fans gather to predict GTA 6 release date

Grand Theft Auto fans have amassed in order to attempt to guess the GTA 6 release date.

For years now GTA fans have been patiently awaiting the release of the next game, even years after the original 2013 release date for GTA 5. Now, almost 8 years later, fans are as eager as ever to see the release of the new game.

We had rumors previously that we could see a trailer at the upcoming Superbowl, and now fans have amassed – through what we can only assume to be sheer boredom – to guess what year the game will release.

In a Reddit post by user “llSuperNova6ll” fans did just that in the form of a poll, which offered users to pick between 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or “2025 or later.” The votes were in favor of 2022, which isn’t surprising with the lack of communication from Rockstar so far. However, the year 2021 is still young, which leaves some time for this year.

Unsurprisingly, 2021 came in second place, either due to wishful thinking or some fans’ heavy belief that this will in fact be the year for the next GTA title. Considering the current world circumstances, it would be no surprise that Rockstar would be open to releasing a new title in 2021, during a time where most customers are working from home.

Third place was 2023, with a Redditor commenting that GTA 5 was announced in 2011 and released in 2013, so who’s to say it won’t happen again. He also mentioned Rockstar likes 5-year gaps in between games, so this would line up with the 2018 release of Red Dead Redemption 2.

For Fourth & Fifth place we have 2024 and “2025 or later.” We think 2024 is a bit of a stretch, even for Rockstar games. We don’t think Rockstar wants to be the next Cyberpunk 2077 with their wait times, so 2025 and later is off the table for us as well.

Hopefully, we see some communication regarding GTA 6 soon. We’ll update if we get any intel. Be sure to tell us your guess for the GTA 6 release date on Twitter, @CharlieIntel.
