Top Warzone streamer Ean ‘FaZe Booya’ Chase is known for dominating with underused loadouts, and has discovered that a recently-buffed Cold War SMG is “amazing” on Rebirth Island.

The UGR was a late arrival to Black Ops Cold War, hitting multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone in April 2022. The weapon never really hit the meta because of its small magazine size, but top streamer FaZe Booya has shown how the Season 5 buffs allow it to dominate Rebirth Island.

Booya has used the UGR before, building a max speed loadout to compensate for its lack of ammo. However, the weapon’s Explosive Flechettes Magazine had its ammunition increased from 36 to 50, giving the weapon much more versatility across Warzone’s modes.

Even after the buffs the UGR has continued to be slept-on, only having a pick rate of 0.11 according to WZRanked. But, using the UGR’s new 50 Round mag on Rebirth Island, Booya finessed and eliminated team after team. Across the two games that Booya used the UGR, he dropped 34 and 24 kills, even clutching up a 1v4 to secure the win.

Praising its headshot damage and accuracy, Booya called the UGR “amazing” on Rebirth Island.

FaZe Booya UGR Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 12.8″ VDV Reinforced
  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Magazine: Explosive Flechettes

Booya used the Explosive Flechettes Magazine following its buffs going into Warzone Season 5 as the ammo count being buffed to 50 Rounds makes it much more viable in Trios and Quads. He said that while the explosive rounds can be countered by E.O.D., it kills fast if they don’t have it.

The other attachments are pretty standard for a Black Ops Cold War SMG, but Booya opted for the 12.8″ VDV Reinforced to keep the weapon accurate and give it a high bullet velocity.

Warzone players will be using a brand-new set of weapons when Warzone 2 arrives, so be sure to check out how to watch its reveal at the Call of Duty Next event.
