FaZe Booya’s underrated Warzone 2 AR loadout is an “absolute beam” on Ashika Island

Warzone 2’s Ashika Island is well known for its fast-paced matches and close-quarters fights, meaning it favors a different weapon setup to Al Mazrah. Luckily, Warzone 2 expert Ean ‘FaZe Booya’ Chase has shown off an Assault Rifle loadout that’s “perfect” for the smaller map.

Warzone 2 Season 2 is in full swing, and players are beginning to get to grips with the new weapons introduced, and of course, the Ashika Island map. The new map has gone down well with the community so far, who have welcomed the change of pace from the much larger Al Mazrah.

The smaller size and faster pace mean that Ashika Island suits a different playstyle to the regular battle royale mode, so Resurgence mode has a weapon meta of its own.

If you’re making the jump over to Ashika Island and are wondering which Assault Rifle to run, then Warzone 2 guru FaZe Booya has revealed that the mostly forgotten STB 556 is a top-tier choice on the more compact map – with the right loadout.

“[It’s] an absolute beam of an AR, very good for Ashika Island,” Booya explained in an upload to his channel. “I probably wouldn’t use it on the other map, Al Mazrah, unless it was a Sniper support, but on Ashika Island it’s perfect.”

The STB 556, based on the popular AUG from past CoD titles, lacks damage range when compared to other meta guns in its class, such as the ISO Hemlock and TAQ-56.

This means it has struggled to make a mark on Al Mazrah so far, sitting at a pick rate of just 0.2% according to WZ Ranked. However, Booya feels that its fire rate and mobility make it an ideal pick for Resurgence.

Booya kicked off his STB 556 loadout with the 24.4″ Bruen S-620 barrel, boosting the AR’s damage range and bullet velocity to make it more viable in mid-range fights. He paired this with the Komodo Heavy muzzle to keep the horizontal recoil in check.

Next up, he picked the VLK LZR 7MW laser for improved ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds, ensuring you always land those crucial early shots. The YouTuber also added a Cronen Mini Pro for improved accuracy, but this can be swapped for your preferred optic.

Finally, Booya increased the STB’s ammo capacity with 42 Round Mags, which are perfect for dealing with multiple enemies in a single clip.

This setup makes the most of the STB 556 lightweight feel and fire rate, while the more compact Ashika Island map makes the reduced range and velocity much less of an issue.
