Top Warzone streamer Kris ‘Swagg’ Lamberson has already played Modern Warfare 2 and has explained the movement mechanics coming to both multiplayer and Warzone 2, including slide cancel changes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a direct sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, arrives on October 28. With it being one of the most anticipated CoD games in years, players are desperate to know every little detail they can about both multiplayer and Warzone 2.

FaZe Swagg was invited to a hands-on session with Modern Warfare 2 and shared details on how the game’s movement will feel, describing the major differences between the original and the sequel.

While watching Warzone YouTuber notgage’s Throwing Knife gameplay along with fellow FaZe member Santana, Swagg discussed Modern Warfare 2’s new movement mechanics.

“I’ve played Modern Warfare 2 … it played just like how [Modern Warfare 2019 played] — the feel of it,” he revealed.

Although clarifying that “it’s definitely not the same,” he said it was hard to explain exactly what was different about it. However, he did add that “the movement is different” and said that “you’ve got the dolphin dive now, you have that aspect in the game.”

When Santana asked if slide canceling is in Modern Warfare 2, Swagg shook his head and said that it’s “not like how you think it is.”

Discussion starts at 7:13

Slide canceling has been a hotly debated topic in the community, with some preferring how it adds a skill gap, but others feeling that it’s an exploitable movement mechanic and is known for being extremely hard on controllers.

It sounds like slide canceling will be in Modern Warfare 2 in some way, but should feel different from how it does in Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone.

He concluded by explaining “you never know” about all of the movement mechanics until the game comes out as there was actually a time when nobody knew slide canceling existed.
