FaZe Swagg claims never-used Modern Warfare weapon is meta after major Warzone buffs
The Season 5 Reloaded update shook up the Warzone Pacific meta, and FaZe Clan member Kris ‘Swagg’ Lamberson has revealed which never-used Modern Warfare SMG now has the spotlight.
Warzone’s meta underwent significant changes with the arrival of Season 5 Reloaded which is the last major update ahead of Warzone 2.0’s launch, and many forgotten weapons are now meta again.
Players are wondering which guns to try out following this update, and Warzone star FaZe Swagg has highlighted one Modern Warfare SMG that has long been forgotten by the community.
Many existing weapons received buffs and nerfs in Season 5 Reloaded, with the CX-9 SMG in particular receiving a healthy boost to its damage multipliers. It also had its sprint-to-fire speed buffed in the update.
In his video, Swagg praised the SMG after it helped him dish out 20,000 damage to his opponents. He tried out the weapon in a few matches and claimed that it was “hitting on a different level.”
FaZe Swagg’s CX-9 Warzone loadout
- Laser: 5mW Laser
- Stock: CX-FR
- Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
- Ammunition: 50 Round Drums
- Perk: Sleight of Hand
According to WZRanked, the CX-9 has a low pick rate of 0.96, so the weapon hasn’t been a popular pick for a while. However, it’s a more viable pick following its recent buffs, and Swagg revealed his best loadout for it.
The CX-FR stock improves the movement speed and ADS speed so that you can quickly lock onto enemies, while the 5mW Laser can be used to aim with greater accuracy. Sleight of Hand ensures that you don’t waste a lot of time reloading.
With this loadout equipped, the FaZe Clan member was able to secure 43 kills while playing in Caldera. Since this weapon has a low pick rate, it’s an underrated gem that you can use to dish out some serious pain.
