FaZe star Kris ‘Swagg’ Lamberson tested out Warzone’s brand-new Welgun SMG, calling it “top-tier” and building an “overpowered” loadout for it.

Warzone Pacific’s mid-Season 1 update brought a ton of buffs and nerfs to fan-favorite weapons, but it also brought the new Welgun SMG.

The Gunsmith system allows the Welgun to be built for a number of different playstyles, and top streamer FaZe Swagg has revealed how to make it “overpowered” with the right loadout attachments.

Best Warzone Welgun loadout

Warzone’s meta received a significant shake-up with Warzone Season 1’s midseason update, with the popular STG44 getting a healthy buff and the Bren getting taken down a peg.

But the one weapon standing out is the brand-new Welgun. In a YouTube video titled “The new Welgun SMG is overpowered in Warzone,” FaZe Swagg explains why.

Using the Welgun along with the STG, Swagg dropped 30 kills, helping his squad rack up over a hundred kills in Caldera. “This gun is top-tier, no question,” explained Swagg. “And overall, 100% you should unlock it.”

Swagg said the Welgun “melts with the right build,” so we’ve got his full class set up below.

FaZe Swagg “overpowered” Welgun loadout

Swagg’s YouTube video doesn’t reveal his full Welgun loadout, so here are the attachments he was running during his January 13 stream.

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: 120mm Gawain Short
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Removed Stock
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 48 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Hollow Point
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1: Unmarked
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

Swagg boosted the Welgun’s fire rate by combining the Recoil Booster and 120mm Gawain Short barrel, allowing it to kill enemies much faster. And he discovered that running iron sights gives you a reflex, so he opted for the Slate Reflector instead.

For magazine and ammo, Swagg ran the 7.62 Gorenko 48 Round Mags to hold extra bullets and the Hollow Point ammunition which increases the damage dealt to limbs, making it much more forgiving.

The rest of the attachments are to improve the Welgun’s mobility and accuracy, with the Unmarked Perk which helps to conceal your position on the mini map.
