Closed Beta codes for FIFA 22 have officially been released, here’s how you can get your hands on one to experience the game before launch.

We’re edging ever nearer to the worldwide release of FIFA 22, and EA is allowing a select number of players to try out the new game ahead of time.

For those who can’t wait for the release date, here’s how you can get a Closed Beta code to experience FIFA 22 early.

How to get FIFA 22 beta codes

To be in contention for a FIFA 22 beta code, you need to be a verified FUT Champions player. This can be accomplished by winning at least 27 matches in one weekend of the FUT Champions competition in FIFA 21.

Verified FUT Champions players have automatically been sent codes, but players who are not verified FUT Champion individuals still have the ability to have a chance of getting a code by signing up to receive EA emails.

You can find the process for how to sign up below:

How to sign up for EA emails

  1. Go to your EA Account Email Preferences.
  2. From there, check the box to be informed about new EA services and news emails.
  3. Remember to make sure you’re checking the right email address as well. Then, even if it’s not guaranteed, wait to be granted access.
  4. If you receive one, check the mode you have been granted access to.
  5. Load up the code onto your Xbox or PlayStation console.

Once that is done, the waiting game begins, so be sure to keep an eye on your associated email, as that is where your code will be sent when EA begins to start sending out the invites.

When does FIFA 22’s beta start?

If you were one of the lucky few to bag a code, this year’s closed beta began on August 12 at 6 PM BST / 1 PM EST / 10 AM PST. Players had been able to pre-load the file since codes were sent out so they could jump straight in.

The beta will remain active until September 2 at 6 PM BST / 1 PM EST / 10 AM PST, by which time the yearly demo should be right around the corner.

Which modes are available in FIFA 22’s beta

Every mode is playable in the beta, and although codes only granted individual access to one or two random sections initially, EA has since opened up the beta to let players sample any part of the game they chose.

Now, beta players can jump into Ultimate Team, Career Mode, VOLTA Football, or Pro Clubs. It will remain this way until the trial closes on September 2.

Ultimate Team in particular is being shown off in a big way. Players can take part in Division Rivals to get a feel for the new seasonal ranking system, as well as take part in Squad Battles.

Each participant is also being showered with coins and packs, including a Team of the Week pack full of the game’s elite players, to build a strong team. Devs are likely hoping this will give the community an idea of how the game will look and feel later in the year, after they’ve graduated from low-rated starter teams.

Does FIFA 22 beta progress carry over?

Depending on how much time you sink into the beta, you may be wondering if the progress you make in FUT or the Career Modes you make will carry over into the full release.

Unfortunately, the beta is only intended to offer up a flavor of the final product and allow devs to get some invaluable feedback. Also, when it comes to Ultimate Team, it’s important that everyone starts on a level playing field when the Web App drops.

Because of this, fans will have to start from scratch come October, this time with fully updated rosters, kits, and licensing.

FIFA 22 beta Download size

Previous leaks had suggested the file size would be closer to 40GB when it finally launched, but the downloads have been clocking in slightly smaller at 36.72GB. Players interested in experiencing this test will want to make sure they have around this much space available on their consoles or PC before starting the install.

So, there you have it. Everything you need to know about the FIFA 22 beta and how to get the codes.
