FIFA 22 Career Mode: All the biggest new features

There are some major changes coming to FIFA 22 Career Mode this year. We break down all the biggest features fans need to know about.

While Ultimate Team is often lauded as the series’ most popular mode, FIFA’s Career Mode has always been a fan favorite. So much so that this year EA is giving it a major overhaul. Here are all the biggest changes coming to FIFA 22 Career Mode.

As we get closer and closer to the launch of FIFA 22, fans of the series are being showered with new leaks and information about what to expect from the new season. New Ultimate Team details especially are dropping all the time, from the new Hero cards to leaked player ratings.

But FUT isn’t the only mode getting a touch-up this year. FIFA 22 Career Mode looks set to be the biggest yet, thanks to a host of changes fans have wanted for years.

FIFA 22 Manager Career Mode

Create a Club

The biggest new change coming to FIFA 22 Career Mode is the long-awaited addition of Create-a-Club in Manager Career. Whereas in the past, players were forced to take control of an existing team, this year, you’ll have the option to take to the pitch with a club you built from the ground up.

You start by picking a name and nickname, which will be adopted by the in-game commentary teams and feature in all the various menus found within the mode. From there, you have control over every aspect of the club, including the kits and the crest.

Perhaps most exciting is the option to customize your own stadium. Similar to the stadium creator from Ultimate Team in FIFA 21, everything from the pitch markings to the color of the seats can be changed. This level of control lets players express their creative side and will undoubtedly lead to some weird and wonderful creations.

Then you have the crucial task of building your actual squad. Here you can tweak the desired age and quality of your side, from a mid-table team with plenty of promise to a table-topper whose best players are on their way out.

Finally, you also have control over the club’s philosophy by selecting the board’s priorities, such as domestic success or youth development. These will impact the objectives you are handed as manager at the start of each new season.

FIFA 22 Player Career Mode

But being a manager isn’t the only way to play. Player Career is also getting some pretty significant changes that fans have been pining for.

The first of these is the ability to take control of your player after they have come on as a substitute. This may sound like a small and obvious feature, but its absence from previous years was noticeable, especially when playing as a young prospect trying to rise through the ranks.

Objectives and manager ratings

Match objectives will play a much more significant role in FIFA 22 Career mode. Each time you step on the pitch, you will be met by a series of challenges to complete based on your club and position.

Completing these tasks helps your player’s growth and keeps you in the manager’s plans.

Speaking of which, in FIFA 22, there will be a new way of keeping track of where you are in the club’s pecking order.

The Manager Rating system lets you know where you fit in the boss’s plans. If you fail to complete objectives too often, you could wind up back on the bench – or even on the transfer list.

Growth

The way your player improves will change drastically in FIFA 22. You will be given far control over the way they develop, thanks to the new XP system.

Completing match objectives and performing well in training will earn XP, which adds to the player’s overall level.

Each time you level up, you will be awarded a handful of skill points to drop into a series of skill trees, affecting stats like pace, passing, and shooting.

It’s very similar to the way Pro Clubs worked in FIFA 21. Only here can you keep track of how far away you are from the next unlock.

Player Career skill tree

As you level up, you’ll also unlock perks that can be selected before a match. Up to three can be equipped at once, and they automatically trigger in-game when certain criteria are met. These offer you valuable buffs on top of the normal stats your player has.

For example, the Hot Streak perk means shooting attributes are boosted for a short time after you bag a goal. It also grants the Finesse Shot and Power Header traits and increases your weak foot ability.

Other FIFA 22 Career Mode changes

As well as the major additions to both Player and Manager Career, there are some general changes across the board, particularly to cinematics, to help make FIFA 22 as immersive as possible.

There’s no doubt that cinematics add an extra layer of authenticity to Career Mode, and EA has added even more this year to keep up the variety. The end of each match in Player Career will trigger a cutscene that sees you and the rest of your team reacting to the game.

These can range from celebrating a big win to your player embarrassingly hiding a man of the match award even though the team has lost. More realistic cinematics have also been added to transfer negotiations to fully convey the drama of haggling over the next big signing.

These are all the biggest features coming to FIFA 22 Career Mode. For more on FIFA 22, check out the first batch of leaked Ones to Watch cards and how you can get early access to the game.

How to complete FIFA 22 Player Moments Ilkay Gundogan SBC

Ilkay Gundogan is looking like a great option in the midfield, and FUT players are going to want to complete his FIFA 22 Player Moments SBC.

Player Moments Gundogan SBC

Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan is the latest player to receive a Player Moments SBC in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. Here’s everything you need to know including stats and how to complete Gundogan’s Player Moments SBC.

Player Moments cards have been somewhat of a disappointment in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team but this Ilkay Gundogan SBC can potentially break that trend.

Luckily, Gundogan is easy to link to squads thanks to his Manchester City allegiance and German nationality. Although this SBC is a touch overpriced, players looking for a quick dribbling central midfielder will want to give him a try.

Players will be required to submit four squads to get their hands on this German maestro, and we’ve got the cheapest solution to give you a hand.

Gundogan’s two biggest assets are without a doubt his passing and dribbling which will allow you to breeze past defenders if used correctly. Gundogan is for the player that prefers a slow and methodic approach to Ultimate Team gameplay.

Unfortunately, his pace is a glaring weakness in the current Ultimate Team meta. Even central midfielders are now expected to boast a ton of pace and Gundogan simply does not have that quality.

To complete this SBC players will need to give up four squads: Tactical Emulation, Germany, Premier League, and 88-Rated Squad. With a value of around 600,000 coins, Gundogan is certainly overpriced but those desperate for a new midfielder should not find it hard to invest fodder into this FIFA 22 SBC.

Team of the Year is here, but before the full squad arrives, EA Sports are dropping the TOTY Warmup Series promo.

For the first time ever, EA Sports have decided to host a pre-TOTY event, with the Warmup preempting the release of the upcoming superpowered squad.

Because this is the first time it’s ever happened, there wasn’t a lot of information about this promo available to players. We can confirm that it’s linked to Team of the Year, and it will give players a chance to stock up on valuable packs.

Players can expect some SBCs, a handful of new packs, and maybe even a few player cards following its initial release. For now, here’s everything we know about FUT 22’s Team of the Year Warmup Series event.

The good news is that players won’t have long to wait for this promo to start. According to a loading screen in FIFA 22, TOTY Warmup Series will kick off on Friday, January 14.

As with all Ultimate Team promos, the promo will start at 6 PM GMT, adding new content to the game at that time.

TOTY Warmup Series leaks

Interestingly enough, FIFA leakers weren’t able to discover anything about this promo prior to its release.

As it turns out, EA have decided to throw players a curveball with the TOTY Warmup. Instead of receiving a collection of new promo cards, players have received new SBCs, Upgrade SBCs, and new Objectives.

Players will get a chance to earn some incredible new cards through these various means from now until the release of TOTY. EA has also granted players a free 83+ x3 pack that can be found in the FUT Store.

TOTY warmup series announcement

As of now, players can complete a Player Moments Ilkay Gundogan SBC, League Player Malang Sarr Objective, 83+ 3x defender, midfielder, and attacker upgrade SBC as well as two TOTY-themed SBCs.

We’ll be sure to keep updating this article as more information becomes available, while the TOTY Warmup Series continues.

How to complete Alexandre Pato FIFA 22 Flashback SBC

Alexandre Pato is one of the most electrifying strikers in FIFA 22, and FUT players are going to want to complete his Flashback SBC.

Published

Flashback Pato solution

EA have decided to celebrate the career of Alexandre Pato by releasing a Flashback SBC for the Brazilian striker. Here’s how you can complete Pato’s Ultimate Team SBC and get your hands on an excellent forward.

Ultimate Team players are no stranger to incredible Flashback cards and it seems like Alexandre Pato is the latest to join a growing list that includes Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.

The fact that Pato currently plays his football in the MLS will make him rather difficult to fit into squads but players should consider making room for him as the striker should be a goal machine leading the line.

Players will be required to submit three squads to get their hands on this Brazilian speedster, and we’ve got the cheapest solution to give you a hand.

FIFA 22 Flashback Alexandre Pato stats

Flashback Pato stats

When examining Pato’s stats it’s difficult not to like what you see given how well-rounded of a striker he is. We knew that Pato was going to bring top-tier pace and dribbling to the table but his shooting and physical stats are a pleasant surprise.

86 strength and 94 jumping will be incredibly useful in the box while his 90 shot power and 87 finishing will lead to a ton of goals. Pato feels quick and responsive as a forward with mazelike dribbling ability and his 4* skills and weak foot are a huge bonus. If you use Brazilian players, Pato is a no-brainer SBC.
