FIFA 22 Career mode gives fans more freedom than ever before, but that doesn’t make picking out the right man between the posts any easier. We’ve put together a detailed guide of the very best goalkeepers you should be signing.

Away from the fierce competition of Ultimate Team, sometimes a Career Mode can make for a relaxing change of pace — especially in FIFA 22, thanks to the all-new Create-a-Club feature that lets you build a squad from the ground up.

As your club grows, it can be tough to find the right signing to take it to the next level. A great goalkeeper is vital to success, so we’ve put together the best stoppers you should sign in FIFA 22 Career Mode.

Best goalkeepers in FIFA 22 Career Mode

Goalkeeper is the one position on the pitch that we as players have no control over. Once an opponent has broken through the defense, it’s completely in the hands of the AI whether or not it winds up in the back of the net.

For this reason, sometimes the best choice in goal is simply the player with the best overall stats. Especially if you’re at a club that is competing for the top prizes.

These are the goalkeepers we’re expecting to be the best in FIFA 22 Career Mode. We’ll update this list with confirmed ratings as soon as EA announces them.

Best young goalkeepers in FIFA 22 Career Mode

One of the most exciting parts of any Career Mode is watching a prospect blossom into a superstar. There’s plenty of talented young goalkeepers in FIFA 22 with potentially high ratings.

Signing these players on the cheap early on and developing them can be a great way to plan a few seasons ahead, or make a big profit later to fund some more signings. Either way, bringing in someone with lots of potential has very few downsides.

These are the young goalkeepers we’re expecting to the be hottest prospects in FIFA 22 Career Mode. We’ll update this list with ratings, potential and price once the game is released.

Best cheap goalkeepers in FIFA 22 Career Mode

Not every signing is about bagging one of the world’s best or a 19-year-old wonderkid. Sometimes a club needs a solid goalkeeper without breaking the bank.

This could be as a backup for a first-choice keeper, or as a short-term replacement after your number one leaves on deadline day. Luckily, there are plenty of options available if you’re not looking to spend big money.

We’ll update this list of cheap goalkeeper options with prices once FIFA 22 hits shelves.

Although they’re unfortunately unavailable in Ultimate Team, FIFA also has the option to play as Women’s International Teams, with all of the best female footballers on display. Here are the best rated in FIFA 22 according to EA’s Ratings Database.

FIFA 22 Women’s Teams

Despite the ever-growing size of Women’s Football, there remains a surprisingly limited amount of playable all-female teams in FIFA.

International teams were first added back in FIFA 16, but since then the likes of the Women’s Premier League or any other club teams have remained absent.

Sadly, this is still the case in FIFA 22. Only national teams are being represented in-game once again, although there have been a handful of changes.

Japan has been removed from the roster, while Brazil with official kits and badges, but no licensed players. Portugal and Belgium are the two new additions.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Icons: New, returning & leaked players

Icons are some of Ultimate Team’s most valuable items, and there’s more in FIFA 22 than we’ve ever seen in the series before.

Published

Robin Van Persie Icon cards in FIFA 22

Icons players are some the most prestigious and sought after in all of Ultimate Team, adding a touch of football class into any squad. These are Icons, new and old, heading into FIFA 22.

Another year of FIFA brings with it another year of Ultimate Team. After the announcement of Hero cards and Ones to Watch, fans are preparing for another year of carefully crafting the perfect squad of talent.

While there’s plenty of special cards on offer in FUT every year, Icons let players rub shoulders with footballing royalty.

Here are all of the FIFA 22 Icons we’re expecting to see in Ultimate Team.

What are Icons in Ultimate Team?

Icons are unique special cards in FIFA Ultimate Team which depict a past legend of the real-world sport. They are hand chosen because of their achievements and contributions to football, which have been revered as an all-time great since their retirement.

Each of the FIFA 22 Icons comes with three versions with different stats – a base, mid, and prime. Each one represents a different stage of the player’s career, from when they first burst onto the scene to the peak of their powers.

They function like normal player cards in-game, only they offer chemistry links to every other player regardless of league or nation. However, they provide strong links to anyone from the same nation, making them extremely useful for building hybrid teams from different leagues.

FIFA 22 Icons can be found in packs but have increased rarity because of their high rating and invaluable chemistry features. EA tends to add Squad Building Challenges later in the year to earn Icons and Icon Swaps.

Leaked & rumoured FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Icons

A handful of new potential Icons have long been rumored, and some have even surfaced online through leaks.

Insiders like FUTWatch and Futzone reported months ago that a number of players had been added to the code for FIFA 22, however, it’s possible that some of them may come to the game as Heroes instead.

These are all of the potential Icons that have been strongly rumoured or leaked in the build-up to launch.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Icons

FIFA 21 Ultimate Team saw the biggest lineup of Icons to date, with 100 of the game’s best-ever players being added to the mode alongside today’s stars.

We’re expecting all of the legends from last year to make the switch into FIFA 22 Icons, although EA is yet to confirm if adjustments will be made to any of the ratings.

The roster from last year is set to be joined by Robin Van Persie, Iker Casillas, and Cafu, with one more set to be revealed closer to release.

You can find every confirmed Icon in the list below. We will update this page with positions and ratings as soon as they are officially confirmed. New players are marked in bold.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is shaping up to be the biggest yet, and fans are eagerly awaiting EA dropping the top 100 player ratings for the coming year. Here’s everything we know so far.

Ultimate Team is comfortably the most popular mode in the FIFA series, as fans compete to fill out their clubs with the biggest superstars in world football. Every year, one of the major talking points is each player’s rating and whether they have been overrated or undervalued.

After confirming Icons and Ones to watches, EA has started revealing the top stars in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, so we’ve put together all the big names we know so far.

FIFA 22 ratings release date

Based on previous years, the full slate of ratings won’t be revealed until players have FIFA 22 in their hands and search for their favorites. But in the lead-up to each game’s release, the top 100 rated players are usually are announced gradually until we reach the game’s elite.

EA has announced that they will begin revealing ratings over the course of the week, beginning on September 13. Historically, a new batch of players is shown off every day before the top 10 are announced on Friday.

There are plenty of factors that can impact a player’s Ultimate Team rating. Sometimes a move to a big club will cause stats to rocket up, while a sub-par season can see top players hit with a downgrade.

With an eventful real-world season behind us, as well as a packed summer of international football, we’re expecting some big changes to the top 100 this year.

The 100 best players are set to be gradually revealed in the coming days. We’re expecting EA to unveil them in blocks until the lineup is finally confirmed on Friday, September 17.

No official times have been slated for the announcements, but the first 22 were posted at 4 PM BST / 11 AM EDT / 8 AM PDT, and they seem to be sticking to this schedule each day.

We will continue to update this table as more and more ratings are officially revealed.

EA has taken a different approach to the ratings reveal this year. Rather than gradually announcing the top 100 themselves day by day, they’ve allowed individual players and teams to reveal their ratings as and when they choose.

Meanwhile, the publisher’s website has been picking out the absolute best from different leagues in the Ratings Database.

One of the lists they have posted is the top 20 players from the English Premier League. Check them out below.
