The art of building the best Ultimate Team relies heavily on having maximum chemistry among your squad of players. But how does it all work? We’ve got guides on links, loyalty, and chemistry styles in FIFA 22 right here.
There’s no doubt we all play FIFA Ultimate Team so we can take to the pitch using the very players in world football. When a Ronaldo or Mbappe walks out of a pack, the first reaction is to put them straight to work.
But to get the most out of your squad, you need to consider whether or not they fit in with your current XI’s chemistry. FIFA 22 is no different, so we’ve put together a guide of everything you need to know about FIFA 22 Chemistry.
What is FIFA 22 Chemistry?
Put, the FIFA 22 Chemistry rating lets you know how well a player will perform on the pitch, based on where they’re playing and who they have around them.
The maximum FIFA 22 Chemistry for any team is 100, with each player having a rating out of 10. Those on full chemistry receive the maximum buffs to their stats, while anyone with a rating will see their effectiveness fall.
There are several factors that impact a player’s chemistry. These are their league and team, nationality, and position.
How chemistry links work in FIFA 22
Once a player is in the correct position, FIFA 22 Chemistry comes from their links to other players in the team.
Each formation has a different layout for which positions are linked, but chemistry only comes from players who are close together in the formation.
For example, a striker position will never be linked to a goalkeeper, but a full-back sometimes links to a winger on the same flank.
Perfect links are rare, but they can be the secret to cramming multiple nations and leagues into a team.
A perfect link comes from two players who play for the same team and are from the same nation. An example would be Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan Bissaka from Manchester United, who are both English.
Green links don’t grant as much chemistry as perfect links but are far easier to pull off. They come from two linked players who share any two of the following attributes:
These only grant a small amount of FIFA 22 Chemistry but can be topped up by links from other players. To earn an orange link, the two player’s must have one of the same attributes in common out of:
Players with a red link share no common factors and will offer no chemistry bonus to each other.
However, maximum chemistry can still be achieved if strong or perfect links are achieved elsewhere.
What is Loyality in FIFA 22
Players with loyalty receive an additional +1 bonus to their chemistry rating and make achieving the max chem slightly easier.

Loyalty is awarded to any player in your club who has played over 10 matches, either in the starting XI or off the bench.
Alternatively, every player earned through opening a pack automatically comes with the loyalty bonus, as they have never been used by another club.
FIFA 22 Manager links
Another way to earn some valuable bonus FIFA 22 Chemistry is through your choice of manager. Their links work the same as a player’s kink, only they don’t have an associated club – and it applies to every member of the starting XI.
It’s worth noting that consumables are available on the Transfer Market, which can change the league your manager grants FIFA 22 Chemistry to. For example, you could make Jurgen Klopp a Ligue 1 manager so that all German or Ligue 1 players receive a boost.
FIFA 22 Chemistry Styles
The higher a player’s FIFA 22 Chemistry, the more significant the boost they receive to their in-game stats. This boost applies relatively even to all attributes, whether it be shooting or defending.
With FIFA 22 Chemistry Styles, you can focus the bonus on the stats you think are most vital to each player.
This could be to take players with poor pace and make them faster or make a player with already clinical finishing almost unplayable.
Check out the lists below to see every FIFA 22 Chemistry Style and which buffs they offer. It’s worth noting that while they are broken up by position, they can be applied to the player of your choice.

FIFA 22 Team of the Week: TOTW 6 & featured players
EA have announced another FIFA 22 Team of the Week. We’ve got everything you need to know, as well as the full FIFA 22 TOTW 6 lineup.
It’s time for another FIFA 22 Team of the Week. In FIFA 22 TOTW 6, there are some huge names for people to add to their teams, and the featured player is a former FUT favorite.
Ultimate Team remains the most popular mode in the FIFA series. One of the many reasons for this is incorporating real-world football into its addictive gameplay loop through special cards, such as Icons or the new FUT Heroes.
One of the mode’s oldest special items is the Team of the Week, which offers players a weekly batch of new upgraded cards to help build out their squads. We’ve got everything you need to know about FUT TOTW right here.
We’ll be updating this hub with the latest FIFA 22 TOTW, so be sure to check back here every week.
Team of the Week 6 has reportedly been leaked thanks to Weaver – FUT, and we know the cards that are expected to be revealed on Wednesday.
FIFA 22 FUT TOTW 6
The FIFA 22 TOTW 6 is here, and it’s full of big names from across the world.
Check out the full, rumored squad for the FIFA 22 TOTW 6 here:
What are TOTW cards in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team?
Team of the Week items are special cards that boost stats based on that player’s performance in the previous week of real-world games. Any player awarded an in-form will see both their ratings and in-game stats get a permanent increase.
Every week, EA unveils a 23-man squad of the stars who had the best games in the previous domestic or international fixtures round. They could be awarded for a last-minute winner in a big game or a heroic performance from a goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet.
Each TOTW is available in packs for an entire week until it is replaced by the next squad on the following Wednesday. Player’s can not receive an in-form two weeks in a row.
While the in-form card is in packs, it replaces the base version of that player. The normal card will return to packs when that TOTW is over.
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Featured TOTW
In FIFA 22, EA has addressed fans’ complaints that TOTW items are often quickly rendered useless by the other promotional cards added to the game throughout the year.
Every week, one player will receive a special Featured TOTW card. These players will receive a larger boost than the rest of the squad in an attempt to make them more desirable to those building their teams.
To qualify for this additional stat-boost, the player must have a base card that is under 80-rated and not have any other performance-based card in packs – such as a Ones to Watch.
When is the TOTW released?
Historically, EA announces the latest TOTW every Wednesday so that any Monday night games can be considered.
No specific time has been set for when the team will be announced. However, so far, they have tended to surface at around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 4 PM BST.
We’ll update this post with an exact schedule as and when it is available.

FIFA 22 players slam “dead” Ultimate Team content
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is supported with a stream of fresh content, however fans are angry with quality of the SBCs and objective this year.
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team has been live for just over a month, and a handful of promotions like Ones to Watches and Road to the Knockouts have already been and gone. This hasn’t stopped FUT fans from slamming the daily content EA have rolled out.
However, fans have slammed the lack of daily Squad Building Challenges and objectives so far in FIFA 22, calling this year’s content “dead.”
Despite the regular big promotions, FIFA fans have been disappointed with how little daily content has been released by EA so far in FUT 22, saying there is little to work towards.
Reddit user BavarianAngel posted claiming “the content is so dead,” after weeks of SBCs with very slender rewards and few meaningful objectives.
Other fans responded in agreement, saying there is “nothing to play for” during the week outside of the usual seven Divison Rivals wins.
While there have been some player SBCs, like the RTTK Nabil Fekir and Record-breaker Inaki Williams, fans feel that only releasing them occasionally is making the game “boring.”
“I just wish there was something to play for that gives me the chance at gaining some coins apart from 30k every week and Weekend League if you’re even able to qualify,” pleaded one fan.
The biggest problem FUT players outlined with the “subpar” content so far this year is how difficult it is becoming to make coins.
“This version of FIFA is the best I have played and they managed to ruin it somehow with s**t content,” said another.
They argued that nerfing the quality of SBCs and objectives means that it’s increasingly harder to earn good players without resorting to buying FIFA points.
After all the praise that FIFA 22’s gameplay has recieved, fans are clearly disappointed that EA isn’t giving them much incentive to keep coming back.
It remains to be seen if the developers will work to improve the daily content and allow the game to thrive over the course of the entire year.
