FIFA 22 players frustrated with “ridiculously bad” game graphics
Fans are calling for a change to the FIFA 22 graphics after screenshots showed the game looking “ridiculously bad” on next-gen consoles.
Following its much-anticipated release FIFA 22’s graphics have come under fire from players, with some even claiming that the PS5 and Series X/S versions look “last-gen.”
The FIFA series has always prided itself on being the most realistic interpretation of the beautiful game you can buy. FIFA 22 modes like Ultimate Team or Career Mode are designed to bring players closer to the real sport than ever before.
However, shortly after glitches were said to be interrupting the experience, fans have now called out the new game’s “ridiculously bad” graphics for breaking the immersion.
Reddit user Jano3012 posted screenshots comparing the pitch texture from FIFA 22 running on a PS5 against a PS4. From the two images, it’s clear that the last-gen version’s turf looks far more realistic than that of the new console.
On the PS4 image, it’s easy to make out individual blades of grass, whereas the other appears bright and artificial. One Redditor compared the PS5 version’s pitch that of “FIFA 96 for SNES.”
It’s not clear if this washed-out appearance is a bug within the game or an intentional design choice on EA‘s part, but fans are calling for something to be done.
Further criticism has been directed towards the graphics on the Xbox Series S version of FIFA 22. Another Reddit user uploaded an in-game screenshot which showed that the graphics were extremely fuzzy, making it hard to make out player’s faces.
Many other Series S players responded saying they were encountering the same issues, no matter the quality of their TV or monitor.
Fans have speculated that the Series S version is a 720p game being scaled up to 1080p, which is causing the issue with the graphics.
A fellow player offered another possible reason for the dip in clarity, suggesting that the problem is caused by the anti-aliasing settings being too low.
These settings are designed to combat the fuzzy, jagged edges often seen in games. PC players have the option to adjust these settings themselves.
EA has confirmed they are aware of graphics problems on the Series S version of FIFA 22, inviting players to track the issues on the company’s Trello board.
It remains to be seen how long it will take devs to address these graphical issues. As always, stay tuned on Charlie INTEL for the latest updates.

FIFA 22 Title Update 14 release date
Although the patch notes are available, there is no word on when Title Update 14 will be ready for FIFA 22 players to download.
There shouldn’t be too long to wait though, as EA have said that the update will “soon be available” on PC.
FIFA updates tend to drop on PC platforms first, so Xbox and PlayStation players can expect to receive FIFA 22 Title Update 14 a couple of weeks after the launch on Steam and Origin.
FIFA 22 Title Update 14 Low Drive Shots buff
Low Driven Shots were an essential tool in a striker’s arsenal in previous years, but they haven’t had the same impact in FIFA 22. That is going to be rectified in Title Update 14 as the devs look to make them more viable.
Players can expect low to mid-power shots of this type to be 17.5% more accurate, meaning you won’t have to smash the ball with as much force to make sure Low Driven Shots are worth trying.
The devs said: “Our intent here is to provide players with an additional goalscoring option in 1v1 and other scenarios.”
FIFA 22 Title Update 14 new skill move
Those who enjoy playing with a bit of flair have a new skill move to terrorize defenders with in the form of the Ball Roll Cut 180. It essentially allows players with four or five-star skills to create space by quickly turning 180 degrees and fooling defenders.
To perform it, simply hold L1/LB and flick the right stick in the opposite direction to the way the dribbler is facing.
Check it out in action below:

FIFA 22 FUTTIES: Release date, promo explained, & player leaks
According to FIFA 22 leaks, the FUTTIES promo will be making its way to Ultimate Team shortly along with some of this year’s best cards.
A FIFA 22 leaker has revealed that the FUTTIES promo is returning to Ultimate Team this summer as a victory lap celebrating the game mode’s best cards of the year.
FUTTIES isn’t necessarily the final FIFA 22 Ultimate Team promo, but it will symbolically wrap up the title by celebrating some of the best special cards we’ve seen since launch. Players can expect to get their hands on boosted versions of this year’s best special items as they make their way to packs, SBCs, and Objectives.
FUTTIES provides FIFA 22 players with a rare second chance. You can expect to revisit some of the best promo cards of the year that you may have missed out on the first time around.
Here’s everything you need to know about Ultimate Team’s FUTTIES including an explanation of the promo and the expected release date.
FIFA 22 FUTTIES release date
FUTTIES is expected to hit Ultimate Team on Friday, July 15 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. According to renowned FIFA leaker FutSheriff, FUTTIES will follow Shapeshifters as the next promo that Ultimate Team players could enjoy.
Previously, Sheriff reported that FUTTIES would arrive on July 8, but the leaker has now claimed that Shapeshifters Team 4 is expected on this date instead. This has pushed FUTTIES’ expected start date by one week.
We’ll let you know when EA officially confirms the promo’s arrival.
FUTTIES FIFA 22 promo explained
The FUTTIES promo is meant to wrap up the Ultimate Team promo calendar by celebrating the best special items of the year. FIFA 22 brought us some truly amazing cards, so here’s a look at how the promo should work.
For starters, Ultimate Team players will have a chance to vote between two previous special cards on any given day. The player who wins the fan vote will not only receive an upgrade but the card will be made available via SBC.
In addition to incredible SBC and Objectives content, some of the best special items from FUT 22 will be re-released. In FIFA 21 there were three batches of re-released FUTTIES teams that appeared in Ultimate Team packs.
FIFA 22 FUTTIES player leaks
FutSherrif has reliably provided details of leaked promo players throughout the entirety of FIFA 22. The leaker’s coverage of FUTTIES should be no different as players are expected to be revealed prior to the July 15 release.
We’ll keep you posted as more information concerning the FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo comes to light. Given that the promo highlights previous special cards that were already in the game, leaks may be difficult to come by, but we’ll update this section accordingly.

Karim Benzema is the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or after his miraculous displays led Real Madrid to widespread success in 2022. Madrid teammates Courtois, Modric, and Vinicius Junior should all be in line for upgrades as well.
Barcelona are still on a journey to reach former heights, and their manager Xavi seems to be imprinting his style of play on the current squad. Jordi Alba was perhaps their best player last season and despite his age, he should maintain his rating from FIFA 22.
The biggest question mark for Barcelona is midfielder Frenkie de Jong who is also one of their highest-rated Ultimate Team players in FIFA.
Manchester United are pushing for his signature, but Barcelona’s midfield should continue to thrive with Pedri, Gavi, and new signing Franck Kessie trending upwards.
