While FUT Champions is home to FIFA 22’s best packs, Division Rivals is the Ultimate Team mode where players spend the majority of their time.
The weekly rewards structure makes it the best and easiest way to keep a steady stream of new players coming to your club.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals format
In FIFA 22, EA has scrapped the old structure for Division Rivals and replaced it with one that asks fans to play fewer games to earn rewards.
Players can now take part in as many games as they want per week but need to secure four wins for standard rewards, or eight for upgraded rewards.
All players start in Division 10, and each win also moves them up a notch on the Rivals leaderboard, while a loss moves them back down and a draw holds their position.
Players who get on a roll and win three games in a row are handed a win streak boost, meaning they move up two places per win instead of one.
The aim every week is to bag three or seven wins, while also landing in the highest rank in the highest division possible.
Within each division, there are also a number of checkpoints. If you reach one of these notches, it means you cannot fall back any lower no matter how many games are lost.
Rank 3 in every division has a checkpoint attached, so it is impossible to be relegated once you reach a new level.
At the end of the in-game season, all players drop down two divisions. At the same time, players are awarded milestone rewards based on their final division and how many games they played.
FIFA 22 Division Rivals Elite Division
If you still aren’t breaking a sweat in Division 1, then the new Elite Divison might be where you feel at home.
This is a new addition to FIFA 22, where the game’s very best players compete for incredible rewards.
Here, the mode returns to the Skill Rating system from FIFA 21, with the top 200 displayed on a leaderboard in all their glory.
To qualify, you simply need to win enough games in a row to escape from Division 1 and into the top tier of Rivals.
When are Division Rivals rewards released in FIFA 22?
A week in Division Rivals runs from Thursday to Thursday, with the rewards from the previous week dropping in the early hours of the morning.

If you have the willpower, you can also save your packs until the next promotion is live in the hope of pulling a special card.

Every new rank in Division Rivals has three different options to choose from when it comes to rewards – each with a different combination of tradeable and untradeable packs, and some coins thrown in for good measure.
Luckily, you don’t have to choose which option to take until you physically go in to claim your rewards.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals tips
The difficulty ramps up quickly in Division Rivals, especially when you hit the higher leagues, so it’s important to be at your best in every game.
With this in mind, we’ve put together our top tips for how to achieve FUT Rivals glory:
- Custom Tactics – Make sure you have both defensive and offensive tactics set up to adapt to every possible situation
- Take your time – The fact you can’t be relegated in Rivals means it’s easy to get stuck in a divison that is too difficult, so don’t be too eager to climb the ranks straight away
- Wait for checkpoints to change your team – You’ll want to keep updating your squad, but wait until you’ve secured the next rank to start experimenting and reduce the risk of slipping down
- Impact subs – Make sure your substitutes offer something different to the players in your starting XI. For example, if you play with a pacey striker, leave a target man on the bench just in case.
- A draw isn’t a loss – Sometimes you get matched against a player who is just better than you, so don’t be afraid to play for a draw. You won’t lose your position and you can move on to the next one.
