FIFA 22 Ultimate Team ICON Swaps: Release date, rewards & objectives
ICONS are some of the most prestigious players in all of FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. EA has finally confirmed that a new batch of FIFA 22 ICON Swaps is coming to Ultimate Team for players to earn valuable rewards.
Of all the special cards found in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, ICONS are some of the most valuable and sought after.
Not only are ICONS some of the highest-rated players in the game, but these footballing legends also offer incredibly useful chemistry links to help build hybrid squads.
ICON Swaps are EA’s way of giving everyone the chance to use these incredible cards every year. Here’s everything we know about them so far in FIFA 22.
What are FIFA 22 ICON Swaps?
ICON Swaps are tokens earned by completing various SBCs and objectives which can be submitted for high-value rewards.
Every edition of ICON Swaps comes with a series of rewards, each of which asks for more and more tokens.

Objectives are usually released gradually over the course of the season. This means players have more time to grind out as many as they want before moving on to the next batch.
FIFA 22 ICON Swaps 1 release date
The first batch of ICON swaps got started on Thursday, December 15, 2021, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT / 7 PM CET.
For those who missed them the first time around, ICON Swaps made their way back to Ultimate Team on January 10, 2022 and will remain in the game until February 31, 2022.
Players can view the entire list of rewards available down below. Players can also expect some objectives to go live, with additional content to follow in the coming weeks.
How to earn ICON Swap Tokens
Players earn Swap Tokens by completing a series of objectives across Ultimate Team’s many modes. These modes include Division Rivals, Squad Battles, or Friendlies.
Here is a list of objectives players can complete to earn Swap Tokens.
Icon Swaps
- Silvers: Win 6 Squad Battles on min. World Class with 11 silver players in your starting squad
- EFL Championship: Win 6 Squad Battles on min. World Class with 11 EFL Championship players in your starting squad
- Liga Portugal: Win 6 Squad Battles on min. World Class with 11 Liga Portugal players in your starting squad
- Azzuri: Win 6 Squad Battles on min. World Class with 11 Italian players in your starting squad
- One Club Wonders: Win 6 Squad Battles on min. World Class with 11 first owned players in your starting squad
- FUT Champions: Win 13 FUT Champions matches
Icon Swaps Premier League
Complete these three objectives to unlock one token.
- Win six: Win six matches in the Live FUT Friendly: One League, with at least eight first owned Premier League players in your starting squad.
- Finesse six: Score using finesse shots with Premier League players in six separate matches in the Live FUT Friendly: One League.
- Assist 10: Assist in 10 separate matches using Premier League players in the Live FUT Friendly: One League.
Icon Swaps Bundesliga
Complete these three objectives to unlock one token.
- Win six: Win six matches in the Live FUT Friendly: One League, with at least eight first owned Budensliga players in your starting squad.
- Score 10: Score in 10 separate matches using Bundesliga players in the Live FUT Friendly: One League.
- Through assist 5: Assist with a through ball in five separate matches using Bundesliga players in the Live FUT Friendly: One League.
Icon Swaps Ligue 1
Complete these three objectives to unlock one token.
- Win six: Win six matches in the Live FUT Friendly: One League, with at least eight first owned Ligue 1 players in your starting squad.
- Score 10: Score in 10 separate matches using Ligue 1 players in the Live FUT Friendly: One League.
- Through assist 5: Assist with a through ball in five separate matches using Ligue 1 players in the Live FUT Friendly: One League.
Fans usually have to complete nearly every objective to earn enough tokens to unlock the best reward, but distributing tokens between two or three lesser packs or players is also a popular approach.
FIFA 22 ICON Swaps rewards
ICON Swaps comes with plenty of different prizes to work towards, from high-value packs to various different ICON cards.
There are also some tiers that give you a random Base, Mid, or Prime ICON, meaning you could earn one of the game’s best cards without having to sacrifice all of your coins.

- 3 tokens – 25 x 82+ Player Pack
- 5 tokens – 25 x 83+ Player Pack
- 6 tokens – Mid Iker Casillas

- 8 tokens – Base or Mid ICON Pack
- 9 tokens – Prime Marc Overmars
- 10 tokens – Mid ICON Pack
- 11 tokens – Mid Marcel Desailly
- 12 tokens – Base Alessandro Del Piero
- 13 tokens – 89+ Mid ICON Pack
- 14 tokens – Base or Mid ICON Player Pick
- 14 tokens – Prime Gianluca Zambrotta
- 16 tokens – Mid or Prime ICON Pack
- 17 tokens – Base, Mid, or Prime ICON Player Pick
- 17 tokens – Mid Wayne Rooney
