FIFA 22 Ultimate Team ICONS: New, returning & leaked players

ICONS are some of Ultimate Team’s most valuable items, and there’s more in FIFA 22 than we’ve ever seen in the series before.

ICON players are some the most prestigious and sought after in all of Ultimate Team, adding a touch of football class into any squad. These are all of the ICONS, new and old, heading into FIFA 22.

Another year of FIFA brings with it another year of Ultimate Team. After the announcement of Hero cards and Ones to Watch, fans are preparing for another year of carefully crafting the perfect squad of talent.

While there’s plenty of special cards on offer in FUT every year, ICONS let players rub shoulders with footballing royalty.

Here are all of the FIFA 22 ICONS we’re expecting to see in Ultimate Team.

What are ICONS in Ultimate Team?

ICONS are unique special cards in FIFA Ultimate Team which depict a past legend of the real-world sport. They are hand chosen because of their achievements and contributions to football, which have been revered as an all-time great since their retirement.

Each of the FIFA 22 ICONS comes with three versions with different stats – a base, mid, and prime. Each one represents a different stage of the player’s career, from when they first burst onto the scene to the peak of their powers.

They function like normal player cards in-game, only they offer chemistry links to every other player regardless of league or nation. However, they provide strong links to anyone from the same nation, making them extremely useful for building hybrid teams from different leagues.

FIFA 22 ICONS can be found in packs but have increased rarity because of their high rating and invaluable chemistry features. EA tends to add Squad Building Challenges later in the year to earn ICONS and Icon Swaps.

Leaked & rumoured FIFA 22 Ultimate Team ICONS

A handful of new potential ICONS have long been rumored, and some have even surfaced online through leaks.

Insiders like FUTWatch and Futzone reported months ago that a number of players had been added to the code for FIFA 22, however, it’s possible that some of them may come to the game as Heroes instead.

These are all of the potential ICONS that have been strongly rumored or leaked in the build-up to launch.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team ICONS

FIFA 21 Ultimate Team saw the biggest lineup of ICONS to date, with 100 of the game’s best-ever players being added to the mode alongside today’s stars.

All of the legends from last year will make the switch into FIFA 22 ICONS, although EA is yet to confirm if adjustments will be made to any of the ratings.

The roster from last year is set to be joined by Robin Van Persie, Iker Casillas, Cafu, and Wayne Rooney, with more likely to be revealed over the course of the year.

You can find every confirmed Icon in the list below. We will update this page with positions and confirmed ratings as soon as they are officially announced. New players are marked in bold.

How to claim free FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Twitch Prime Gaming pack

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team players can grab a free Twitch Prime Gaming pack right now, and here’s how you can claim yours.

Published

on

Any FIFA 22 Ultimate Team player who happens to have a Twitch and Amazon Prime account can claim free Prime Gaming packs in FUT this year. Here’s an easy step-by-step guide on how to claim yours.

Packs are the lifeblood of FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, and it’s the constant lure of pulling one of the game’s top-rated superstars that keeps millions of fans coming back every day.

Usually, earning packs requires plenty of effort from the player, whether it’s grinding out wins on Division Rivals or taking on Squad Battles offline.

With the Twitch Prime Gaming pack, fans have the chance to earn rewards for absolutely free, and here’s how you can do it.

What are FIFA 22 Twitch Prime Gaming packs?

Twitch Prime Gaming packs are free rewards offered to any FIFA 22 Ultimate Team player with a Twitch account and a valid Amazon Prime Membership.

Players who have subscribed to Amazon Prime automatically have access to Prime Gaming, meaning they qualify for Twitch Prime Gaming packs.

EA has teamed up with the two giant companies to offer players rewards throughout the year, in the form of free packs, containing untradeable cards and player picks.

The rewards are dropped monthly throughout the season, so be sure to keep an eye on EA’s social media for the latest releases.

How to claim FIFA 22 Twitch Prime Gaming packs

In order to claim your free Twitch Prime Gaming pack, you must link all three of your accounts together.

It’s worth noting that if you have an Amazon Prime Membership but no Twitch account, you can create one for the purpose of these rewards.

You can find our guide on how to do this below:

  1. Head over to the Prime Gaming website and link your Twitch account to your Prime Gaming account
  2. Follow the prompts to also link your EA and Twitch accounts
  3. Make sure the EA account you link is the one attached to your FIFA 22 Ultimate Team on your main platform
  4. Head over to Twitch and click on the crown in the top righthand corner of the screen
  5. From this screen, you can claim your Twitch Prime Gaming pack
  6. Load into FIFA 22 Ultimate Team and find your rewards on the store

What’s included in Twitch Prime Gaming Pack #8

The eighth of the Prime Gaming packs in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team has yet to drop, which has bewildered Ultimate Team players. Usually, the pack drops between the 15 and 19, but as of May 24, there is still no sign of it. Rumors suggest that the pack will be arriving on May 25, so players won’t have to wait much longer.

Among the untradeable rewards, there are a handful of rare gold players and player picks, as is customary. However, leaks claim that the loan player available this time will be a valuable Prime Icon on a five-game loan.

  • 7 Rare Gold Players
  • Prime Icon (five-game loan)
  • 2x 82+ Player picks
  • 12 Rare Consumables

That was how you can claim your Twitch Prime Gaming packs in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

FIFA 22 Ultimate Team: Team of the Week 36 predictions: Di Maria, Gundogan, Abraham

FIFA 22’s Team of the Week 36 is set to drop on May 25, and we’ve predicted who will get an in-form card with major stat upgrades.

Published

on

There were plenty of memorable games and goals in the world of football last week. EA Sports are set to drop some new in-form players in packs, and here are the players we think will feature in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team’s Team of the Week 36.

Each and every week, EA drops the Team of the Week into FIFA 22 Ultimate Team to reward the stars who made the headlines in the previous round of fixtures.

The chosen squad of players receive a special card in packs for the next week for FUT fans to hunt down and use to improve their teams.

Next up is Team of the Week 36, so here are our predictions of who will be included in the next FUT TOTW lineup.

FIFA 22 TOTW 36 release date & time

FIFA’s Team of the Week drops weekly, so players can expect TOTW 36 to release on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT, with an announcement from EA usually coming shortly before.

TOTW cards replace the normal cards of the player in packs for the duration of the week, meaning that the upgraded card is the only version it’s possible to pack for seven days.

Each wave of in-forms remains in packs until they are replaced by the next Team of the Week on the following Wednesday.

FIFA 22 TOTW 36 predictions

PSG thrashed Metz on the final day of the season and while Mbappe’s hat-trick was impressive, his likely involvement in the upcoming Ligue 1 TOTS squad should keep him out of TOTW 36. Instead, Angel Di Maria, the man who is departing the club, should receive an in-form card.

Over in the Premier League, Gundogan was the hero of a thrilling Manchester City comeback that saw them secure the title on the final day of the season. Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leão also made major contributions toward a title win on the last day of the season. Don’t be surprised to see one or both of the A.C. Milan players involved this week.

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday to find out the official squad for Team of the Week 36, but, until then, here are our best predictions.

  • Angel Di Maria – PSG – RW
  • Ilkay Gundogan – Manchester City – CM
  • Olivier Giroud – A.C Milan – ST
  • Rafael Leão – A.C Milan – LW
  • Jack Harrison – Leeds – LM
  • Andy Delort – Nice – ST
  • Joaquin Correa – Inter Milan – CF
  • Dejan Kulusevski – Tottenham – RW
  • Mario Balotelli– Adana Demirspor – ST
  • Diego Lopez – Espanyol – GK
  • Joël Veltman – Brighton – CB
  • Cédric Soares– Arsenal – RB
  • Alexander Nubel  – Monaco – GK
  • Reece James – Chelsea – RWB
  • Rodrigo De Paul  – Atletico Madrid – CM
  • Andre-Pierre Gignac – Tigres – ST
  • Tammy Abraham – Roma – ST

Those were our FIFA 22 Team of the Week 36 predictions. We update this page every seven days with the next batch of TOTW guesses, so be sure to check back here every week.

FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS: Release date, predictions, & leaks

FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS is set to be one of the biggest releases on the FUT calendar, here’s everything you need to know about the event.

Published

on

The Ligue 1 TOTS is set to hit FIFA 22 Ultimate Team very soon, celebrating the very best players that the French league has to offer. Here’s everything we know about FIFA 22 Ligue TOTS, from the release date to squad leaks.

FIFA 22 TOTS is well and truly underway, and EA is showering its players constantly with new and exciting content. The Premier League, Bundesliga, and LaLiga squads have made quite an impact on many FUT teams, and the Ligue 1 squad is set to follow suit.

In recent years, Ligue 1 has emerged as one of the most popular leagues in Ultimate Team, with many of the game’s biggest names plying their trade over in France for PSG, Lille, and other clubs. Unsurprisingly, this means the Ligue 1 is always one of the most-anticipated releases of the year.

We’ve got everything you need to know about FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS right here, including the release date, players we expect to feature, and squad leaks.

FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS release date

According to the official schedule announced by EA Sports, Ligue 1 TOTS will come to Ultimate Team on Friday, May 27, 2022. It will replace the LaLiga squad in packs from 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST.

The French league will take center stage for an entire week before being replaced by Serie A on the following Friday.

Don’t worry, though, if you miss out on the player you wanted, the best Ligue 1 players will likely return for Ultimate TOTS on June 10.

FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS voting

Unfortunately, the Ligue 1 TOTS will not take fan votes into account. While the likes of the Premier League and Bundesliga always allow players to vote, other leagues are hand-picked by EA themselves.

The schedule never mentioned a voting window for the French league, and with the squad arriving on May 27, EA will be selecting the elite players involved.

FIFA 22 Ligue 1 TOTS predictions

There have been plenty of stellar performances in Ligue 1 this season. PSG were an unstoppable force as they reclaimed their title, but stars from up and down the table are also worthy of a mention.

Donk is usually on the mark when it comes to squad leaks and they are suggesting that Neymar, Messi, and Mbappe will be included in the Ligue 1 TOTS.

Aside from PSG’s trio of attackers, Marquinhos, Fofana, Tchouameni, and Ben Yedder are expected to be the most sought-after players in the Ligue 1 TOTS squad.
