Cristiano Ronaldo’s Ultimate Team statistics have caused a stunned reaction amongst FIFA 23 players as ratings were revealed via a leak.

On August 30, certain Xbox players were able to download FIFA 23 a month before the game is scheduled to release. The strange bug granted players access to all FIFA 23 game modes including Ultimate Team.

It didn’t take long for players with unparalleled access to sift through the new FIFA 23 ratings. The top 50 player ratings in FIFA 23 revealed from the leak proved that some footballers received deserved upgrades.

On the flip side, players were shocked to discover the downgrades that awaited some of the game’s biggest stars, including Ronaldo.

While Ronaldo’s overall rating has only dropped by one, it’s his statistics that have players losing their minds. The leaked FIFA 23 ratings reveal that Cristiano Ronaldo will have a pace stat of 81 in FIFA 23.

This is a significant downgrade from his 87 pace in FIFA 22. Pace has long been a vital factor in determining Ultimate Team viability, and players are worried that without pace, Ronaldo will be a non-meta card for the first time since Ultimate Team began in FIFA 09.

The comments from the above post found on the FIFA subreddit are full of claims that Ronaldo will be Ultimate Team fodder in FIFA 23, including this one that is sure to generate a few laughs: “Good fodda siuuuuu.”

Despite Ronaldo’s pace taking a serious dip, FUT experts don’t forsee his traditionally high market value changing: “Even without the pace he will still have a relatively high price for a while since he is Ronaldo and will still have custom animations and stuff, but will be nowhere near as good as he has been in the last fifas.”

Meanwhile, FIFA leaker FutSheriff is reporting that while these ratings are indeed from FIFA 23, they may not be the final statistics that EA Sports were meant to include in the game.

Much like Ronaldo, Messi is another player who despite his age, was expected to maintain elite stats. However, the leak revealed that this might not be the case for Messi, as he too boasts a pace stat of 81.

Sheriff mentions that the official FIFA 23 ratings “will be close to this,” so we’ll have to monitor how these leaked ratings differ from the ratings EA reveals when the time comes.
