All World Map regions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Square EnixFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a huge world for players to explore, and Square Enix has confirmed all available regions where the game will showcase its Main Story and side content.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a new open-world adventure from Square Enix, and it follows the story of 2020’s FF7 Remake. The first entry took place in the city of Midgar, and it featured a more linear gameplay with some open areas.
Now, Rebirth will expand all playable areas and feature an open world where Cloud and the rest of Avalanche can even ride Chocobos. Swamps, mountains, and beautiful sea coast landscapes await in this new adventure.
So, here’s every World Map region in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that we know of so far.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: All World Map regions
The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth World Map features 8 different regions that players will be able to explore, as shown in the latest State of Play trailer from February 6, 2024.
Out of the total 8 regions, 6 of these will pack side quests and content to complete, while the rest will probably be left for story missions only.
With all this in mind, let’s take a look at the different World Map regions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and where they are located.
The Grasslands
This is the starting region of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth after the Nibelheim flashback, and where players will be able to find the city of Kalm, Billy’s Chocobo Stable, and The Mythril Mines.
Junon region
The Junon region is, as its name suggests, the place where Avalanche will find Junon City. Just like in the original game, this map holds Fort Condor, the upper and lower parts of Junon city, and the mighty Sister Ray cannon, a symbol of Shinra’s military might and a Wutai war relic.
Corel region
The Corel region is the birthplace of the fan-favorite Golden Saucer, as well as its prison and the city of Costa del Sol, a crucial area in the original Final Fantasy 7.
Gongaga region
The Gongaga region in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth holds Zack Fair’s birthplace, the town of Gongaga, and is the location of an old and mysterious Shinra Mako reactor.
Cosmo Canyon region
The land where Red XIII’s city sleeps, Cosmo Canyon, is the birthplace of Shinra’s Scientist Hojo experiment. The party learned a lot from the world and Red’s past in Cosmo Canyon in the original game.
Nibel region
The Nibel Region is where Nibelheim, Tifa and Cloud’s hometown, is, and also the setting of the game’s starting mission. Here, players will find Rocket City and the Nibelheim mansion, or Vincent Valentine’s original restplace.
Meridian Ocean region
Located in between continents and in the middle of the World Map, the Meridian Ocean region is where players will find the Temple of the Ancients, one of Final Fantasy 7’s most iconic locations in the original game.
We’ll be sure to update this guide as soon as we know more about any other regions or locations.
