Square EnixFinal Fantasy 16 features a New Game Plus mode that makes your adventure even more fun the second time around, allowing you to get your hands on new rewards. Here’s the Final Fantasy XVI New Game Plus mode explained.
Final Fantasy 16 is looking to be one of the biggest releases of 2023, joining the likes of Hogwarts Legacy and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as fans of the Final Fantasy video game franchise eagerly await its arrival.
After you reach the end of the game, Final Fantasy XVI’s New Game Plus mode will allow you to continue your journey, and if you’re wondering how this mode works then we’ll break down everything that you need to know.
What is Final Fantasy XVI New Game Plus Mode
Final Fantasy XVI‘s New Game Plus Mode is known as Final Fantasy Mode, and this allows you to jump back into the campaign with all of your stats and equipment intact. It can be accessed after you complete the story for the first time.
In Final Fantasy Mode, the level cap is raised to 100 and you’ll encounter more powerful enemies, granting you an additional challenge. Late-game enemies may also pop up much earlier than expected in the story.
However, you won’t have to worry about the enemies being too difficult to defeat, as Final Fantasy Mode also allows you to craft the legendary “Ultimate Weapon” that you can use to dish out some serious pain in battles.
Another major difference in New Game Plus is that your weapons can be upgraded to six degrees Instead of just three. A weapon will enter its maximum potential state after receiving six upgrades and will get a new name.
PlayStation users that beat the game on New Game Plus will be able to get their hands on the gold-rarity trophy. That covers everything that you need to know about Final Fantasy XVI’s New Game Plus mode.
