The cult-classic FF7 started its Remake project in April 2020, and now, in 2024, we are getting its sequel Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The game shifts from its linear approach to an open world take and promises players new ways to explore the world of Gaia.

Being an open-world game means the console running it should be beefy, like the PlayStation 5. But, with rumors about a new Switch coming out this year, fans are wondering if Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to Nintendo Switch along with its prequel.

Is FF7 Rebirth coming to Nintendo Switch?

No, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch, and there is no indication that it will be making its way to Xbox consoles or Nintendo Switch.

There is no official confirmation of FF7 Rebirth releasing on Nintendo’s current system. But, as rumors about a Switch successor coming in 2024 are spreading, speculation over Square Enix’s release on this console have arisen.

Two different industry insiders have confirmed and denied that Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and potentially Rebirth, are coming to the new Nintendo console. A former member from the forum Reset Era called ‘Im A Hero Too’ confirmed that many SQUEX titles, including FF7 Remake, were coming to ‘Switch 2.’

On the other side, insider ‘Nate Drake’ confirmed that the FF7 Remake and Rebirth are not in Square Enix’s plans at the moment for Switch or the ‘Switch 2.’ “IF Square wants to do it, they can & will; but no such plan exists at the present,” added the source.
