As the end of Apex Legends Season 7 looms near, we are starting to pick up hints and teasers about Season 8. This includes the brand new Legend, cool new abilities, and even a new planet.

Respawn has done a great job with Season 7 of Apex Legends and are continuing to support it as it comes down to its last several weeks. The Fight Night Collection Event was another way in which the devs have been trying to keep Apex fans happy.

Now, we have several teasers that point towards crucial Season 8 information, including Salvo – a potential new planet in the Apex Legends universe.

Apex Legends Season 8 teasers

The social media accounts for Apex Legends have been particularly busy as of late. The official Apex Legends Twitter account posted a GIF captioned “New Blood”.

New Blood probably refers to a new face coming to Apex Legends. The GIF signifies the unity of Salvo and the Syndicate (in charge of the Apex games), with extra care needed for Salvo.

New planet Salvo

Salvo is another planet that has featured no connection to Apex Legends. But this teaser seems to suggest that this is changing. For some lore on Salvo, here is an official letter that was on Wattson’s desk.

“I am writing to inform you that Salvo – which rejected the Mercenary Syndicate’s position to join Syndicate Space in 2722 – is now being guided by new leadership sympathizers to the cause of peace within the Outlands.

Talks with this new administration was prolonged, but ultimately fruitful; as of today, the Mercenary Syndicate Treaty has been amended, and Salvo will become the seventh world to join Syndicate Space.

Salvo brings with it [redacted]. In the coming [redacted] Office of Public Relations will be rolling out a social [redacted] to dispel inaccuracies about [redacted] to create an appropriate [redacted] for their integration into the Syndicate, [redacted] including exciting new developments within the Apex Games.

At this time do not correspond with the Legends regarding this matter. Expect further instructions [redacted] our office in the days to come.”

We aren’t sure how Salvo becomes fully integrated into the new Season 8. It may be the catalyst for a new map down the line. For the time being, it seems to be the home planet of our next Legend…

Fuse in Apex Legends

Dataminers recently unearthed the potential identity of our new Legend for Season 8 – Fuse – and he is supposed to be an explosives expert.

That would explain the Salvo aspect with the word meaning a successive barrage of fire. The datamined info suggests that these will be Fuse’s abilities:

  • Tactical: Projectile Grenade
  • Ultimate: Firebomb

There have also been hints of Fuse’s Ultimate as well.

But a new teaser has also pointed towards some new Abilities heading for Season 8. Respawn recently gave players a welcome surprise by bringing back King’s Canyon and the Mirage Voyage point of interest.

In the special new mode, a teaser video shows some bombs on the map that can be triggered and explode to great effect. There are thoughts that these will be included in Season 8 and can be intertwined with Legends’ abilities.

How this will take effect we’re not sure, but this should all become more clear as we get closer to Season 8.

Season 7 of Apex Legends is scheduled to conclude on Feb 1st. Season 8 is expected to start soon after.

How to check Apex Legends item shop without being in-game

If you’ve ever wanted to check the Apex Legends item shop without actually being on the game, we’ve got a great tip for you.

We’ve found a great way for you to check the Apex Legends item shop without actually being on the game. So let’s get into the details.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale that contains an in-game store for players to purchase various cosmetics. Apart from collection events and special sales like the recent ALGS Animal Kingdom bundle, the Apex Legends item shop will rotate cosmetics and put recolors up in the exclusive section of the store.

If you’ve ever wanted to see what is in this item shop without actually having to go on the game, there’s an easy way for you to do so.

Although we are yet to see a collection event for Season 9: Legacy, we have seen some new cosmetics enter the game through the Arenas Flash event and Battle Pass.

However, for those looking to get a specific skin or recolor, you may constantly be checking the item shop when it refreshes stock to find that exclusive skin you’ve been waiting for.

If this moment comes when you aren’t able to check the store in-game, there is a handy way to do so without having to boot up Apex Legends.

How to check the Apex Legends item shop

The best way to find out what is in-store on the Apex Legends item shop is through a handy website called apexitemstore.

This website will give you a breakdown of the current items in both the “Featured” section and “Exclusive” section of the item shop, as well as how long they will be in the store.

Featured items are those that can be purchased with Apex Coins and are already in the game. However, although they are in the game, the only way players can obtain these items is through crafting them or in Apex Packs.

Crafting these items takes a lot of Crafting Materials that take a long time to get. Further, getting a specific item in a pack leaves it down to luck, meaning you might have to spend a decent amount of money before getting what you want.

Therefore, the store’s featured items give those players a chance to get a specific item that they want on a one-time purchase with Apex Coins, which is a lifesaver for those who really want a certain skin, especially if it is for a recolor.

Exclusive

Exclusive items are on the right side of the store and are generally called “recolors,” as they are different colorways of already present skins in the game. To purchase exclusive items, players must have the original item of the recolor, which they can purchase with Apex Coins.

Not only does this give players a chance to get a specific skin they have wanted with Apex Coins, but it also throws in a recolor they can purchase with Legend Tokens, which is the game’s free currency that is passively obtained just by playing.

The website also allows players to check out every Legend and weapon skin ever released, recolors and all, which is great for those interested in seeing past items that may become available in the future.

That’s how you can check the current item shop contents in Apex Legends without being in-game. For more, stay tuned on Charlie INTEL and check out our recent article on how to unlink and link Apex Legends and EA accounts.

How to unlink and link Apex Legends and EA accounts

Here’s how you can link your EA account to your Apex Legends profile in order to play the game, or switch the account you play on.

apex legends ea account

Apex Legends is developed by Respawn Entertainment, a studio under Electronic Arts, or EA. In order to play the battle royale you will need to link your active account to your EA account, so here is how to do so.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale developed by an EA studio, Respawn Entertainment. This means that to play the game, your platform account will need to be linked to your EA account in order to play online and save your progress.

While there is cross-platform play on Apex Legends, cross-progression is not yet available, which means you won’t be able to play on the same account on multiple platforms. So, for those who have switched platforms and now need to link their EA account once again, here’s how to do so.

apex legends ea account

On your platform

  1. Open one of our games on your PlayStation®, Xbox, or Switch.
    • For Google Stadia, you can use the account linking page.
    • Some games ask you to log in at the start, while others prompt you to sign in to EA servers when you try to access online modes.
  2. Enter the email address and password for your primary EA Account when you’re asked to log in.
  3. Once you’ve signed in, your accounts will be linked.

On EA Help

  1. Click Log In at the top of this page, or any page on help.ea.com.
  2. Choose the option to sign in using your platform credentials.
  3. Fill in the login details from your platform in the pop-up.
  4. All set! Your accounts are linked.

How can I check if I’ve linked my account?

You can check if you’ve linked your accounts before by checking your About Me page on myaccount.ea.com.

Any Xbox Gamertags and PlayStation™Network Online IDs that are linked to your EA Account will show under Connected Accounts. Connected Switch Accounts and Stadia Accounts won’t show here.

Can I link multiple platform account IDs?

An EA Account can only have one of each platform account linked at a time. This means that you can’t link an EA Account to two PlayStation™Network IDs, for example. Instead, you’ll need to create a new EA Account to link to your additional platform accounts. If you try to link additional accounts, you’ll get a message that says Linked accounts found.

If you already have multiple platform accounts linked to an EA Account, they’ll stay linked, but you won’t be able to add more. We suggest choosing your preferred accounts when you link them together.

How to unlink your EA account from your platform account

apex legends ea account

You can unlink your platform accounts from your EA Account if you want to link them to a different EA Account, as long as your EA Account has never had the same account type linked to it before.

All your EA game progress is linked to your EA Account, not your platform account. That means if you do end up deciding to unlink your persona from one account to link it to another, you’ll lose your game progress.

If you’re having trouble doing any of this, head over to the EA website for further help.

Well, there you have it, that is how you can link, or unlink your EA account to your Apex Legends account. For more, stay tuned on Charlie INTEL and check out our recent article on the devs teasing some potential Evo shield changes.

How to add friends on Apex Legends cross-platform play

Cross-platform play lets you play with friends across different platforms in Apex Legends, and here’s how you can add friends in it.

How to add friends in Apex Legends cross-platform play

You can play Apex Legends with your friends between PlayStation, Xbox, Origin, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Here’s how you can add friends through the cross-platform play feature.

Many multiplayer games these days come with cross-platform capabilities. These allow you to invite or join your friends in matches, even if they’re playing on a different console or device than you.

Respawn added this feature to Apex Legends in Season 7, and you can use it to play with your buddies between PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Origin, and Steam. Here’s how you can add friends to play with in cross-platform play.

How to use cross-platform play in Apex Legends

Apex Legends Season 9 roster

If you play Apex Legends on the PC, then you can only match with other PC players during normal matchmaking. However, it’s a different story for console players.

If you’re on a PlayStation, Switch, or Xbox, then you’ll be paired with other players on consoles. You can still use your system to play with friends on PC, but you’ll need to already be in a party with them before the matchmaking begins.

If you are partied up with a PC player, you will be thrown into lobbies with both console and PC users, so keep this in mind before you complain about controller aim assist or cracked mouse and keyboard aim.

You can search for players on different platforms through their usernames. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Start up and log in to Apex Legends
  2. Open up the friends menu from the main lobby screen
  3. Click the Find Friend option
  4. Enter the player’s in-game name and select search

That’s all you need to do when searching for and adding players. You will have to make sure that you have the username that matches the platform they are playing on.

If you want to change how players can search for you then visit privacy settings, and select “Allow users to search for me by.” You can choose to let others find you through your:

  • Email address
  • PSN Online ID for PlayStation 4 and 5
  • Xbox Live gamertag for Xbox One and X|S
  • Nintendo Nickname for Nintendo Switch

How to disable cross-platform play in Apex Legends

Apex Crossplay settings

You can turn cross-platform play on and off by heading to the settings menu. Disabling this feature will will reduce the number of potential players that you can find during matchmaking.

However, limiting the number of players that you can join a match with will also lead to longer waiting times in the lobby. For that reason, we recommend that you keep cross-platform play enabled.

Is there Cross-progression in Apex Legends?

using sniper rifle in apex legends

You can use the same EA account to play Apex Legends on your PC and Xbox by connecting it to your Microsoft account, but you can’t share the progression between those two platforms. So you won’t have any of your unlocked items when playing on another system.

However, Respawn understands the benefits of cross-progression, and they have expressed interest in bringing it to the game in the future. Hopefully, we’ll see it added in an upcoming season.
