UPDATE:In Polygon’s extensive preview of Advanced Warfare, they have revealed the original artwork for which Sledgehammer Games had for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The new artwork on the left is the current soldier image in on the box art for Advanced Warfare.

Original Story:
Polygon has written an extensive report today on Call of Duty and how SHGames plans to reinvent Call of Duty this year with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. One of the interesting things about their article was a napkin sketch made by Glen Schofield in December 2011 which showed how the exoskeleton could transform the fundamentals of Call of Duty.

As part of a design document for the game that would become Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Glen Schofield drew a stick figure soldier in an exoskeleton to show what the suit could allow players to do.

The sketch above would go on to become the Advanced Soldier we’ve seen today in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
