Five weapons you should be using in Black Ops 4 Zombies

Jeffrey Mizrahi

To help you decide what to take into battle, here are the top five weapons in Black Ops 4 Zombies.

With 30+ new weapons in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies, you’re probably wondering which ones turn you into a zombie killing machine, and which ones are simply peashooters.

While these are just my opinions, you’ll be hard pressed to find a highly skilled player NOT using one of these:

MOG 12 (OMG Right Hook)

MOG 12 on Voyage of Despair

With the newly added ability to choose your starting weapon in Black Ops 4, a shotgun on round 1 is a no brainer (pun intended). The MOG 12 will one shot most zombies well into double digit rounds, and when fully pack-a-punched, this gun slaughters on higher rounds.

However, make sure you have the speed loader and rapid-fire attachments equipped for a more optimal experience. Reloading an entire magazine with one swift motion is ridiculously fast and can get you of out of tight corners when overrun by zombies.

Strife (Z-Harmony)

Free Z-Harmony for doing challenges on IX

When playing on IX, you most likely will spend a good portion of your game with the Strife in your hands. After completing the first three Challenge Banners, your reward is a pack-a-punched Strife, also known as the Z-Harmony, that will easily keep you safe well into round 20.

I’ve gone halfway through Easter Egg runs with nothing but a pack-a-punched Strife and didn’t even break a sweat. When coupled together with extended mags and full auto, this gun is basically an SMG. Outside of IX, the Stiletto Knife Operator Mod allows the Strife to one hit melee until round 5, making the expensive Bowie Knife feel a little useless.

Kraken (+Elemental Upgrades)

Kraken in the Mystery Box

Map specific Wonder Weapons have always been pretty hit or miss. There are weapons like the Bows on Der Eisendrache that are absolute necessities, and then there are guns likes the Scavenger on Call of the Dead that leave players scratching their heads. The Kraken is a hit.

Voyage of Despair gets a lot of things right with this Wonder Weapon. It can be earned through Easter Egg steps or purchased from a mystery box, can be pack-a-punched, and can even be upgraded into four different elemental types. The icing on the cake is that, unlike most Wonder Weapons, you can buy more ammo for 6000 points, granted you have a Catalyst part to spare. Whether you’re going for high rounds, the main quest, or just playing for fun, you’ll want the Kraken in your arsenal.

Hades (Acheron Alliterator)

Hades on IX

If an assault rifle and an LMG had a baby, that would be the Hades. With the highest firing rate in its class, this gun is a beast.

While rocking the Titan LMG may be a more strategic choice because you can always buy more ammo off the wall, the Hades has both a bigger magazine AND shorter reload times, making it the better option. When equipped with Hybrid Mags, the newly added “Speed Cola” modifier, and pack-a-punched, you’re looking at reload speeds that rival most assault rifles.

Maddox RFB (Red Fiend Bull)

Maddox RFB Pack-a-Punched on IX

While I personally like the KN-57 and ICR-7 more, it’s undeniable that the Maddox RFB is a better gun. Not only does it have the fastest firing rate and largest magazine in its class, the ability to attach Fast Mags II on this baby means that every second magazine auto loads.

This makes the gun feel like it has an 80 round magazine normally, or 120 rounds when pack-a-punched. For a 1400 point wall buy, the Maddox is a worthy investment for any kind of Zombies player.

While there is plenty more to say about the dozens of other guns in Black Ops 4, these are the five that stand out most to me. Disagree with this list? Let me know what your top five weapons are in the comments down below!
