A forgotten Cold War weapon with a shocking K/D ratio is currently Warzone’s #1 ranked LMG in Season 3 Reloaded despite being heavily underrated.

Following the weapon buffs and nerfs that arrived with the Season 3 Reloaded update, the STG44 has established itself as Warzone’s best long-range weapon. Fortunately for those who prefer to avoid Vanguard weapons, other powerful long-range options are beginning to emerge.

Following the Bren’s decline in Season 2, Warzone Pacific LMGs have failed to leave their mark on the long-range weapon meta. However, that could change as a Cold War LMG is flying under the radar as one of the best weapons in Season 3 Reloaded.

According to WZ Ranked, Cold War’s MG 82 LMG has managed to crack the top ten list of Warzone’s highest K/D weapons. As of May 30, the MG 82 occupies the ninth spot with a K/D ratio of 1.15. This inclusion on a list that is dominated by Vanguard weapons may come as a shock to some.

What’s even more surprising is the fact that the MG 82 boasts a pick rate of only 0.05%. This means that the weapon is incredibly unpopular and likely getting overlooked as a top long-range option in Season 3 Reloaded.

It is the only LMG in the top ten and one of only three long-range weapons, alongside the STG44 and the BAR.

Highest K/D Warzone MG 82 loadout

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 16.4″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap

WZ Ranked also breaks down which attachment choices contribute to the highest K/D MG 82 loadout. It’s no surprise to see the Agency Suppressor and Task Force barrel as two of the most popular attachments.

These two are standard on most long-range Cold War weapons and their ability to increase bullet velocity, damage range, and recoil control is invaluable. Meanwhile, the Field Agent Grip and Serpent Wrap combine to cover the LMG’s greatest weaknesses of recoil control and ADS speed.

If you prefer Cold War weapons across Warzone, then there’s no better long-range option than the MG 82 at the moment. If it continues to rise from the shocking spot of ninth best K/D in the game, don’t be surprised to see its pick rate of 0.05% drastically increase as well.
