Fortnite’s final update of 2020 is here in the form of the v15.10 update, introducing Operation: Snowdown and the new Cowboy Repeater Rifle for players on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

2020 has been another huge year for Fortnite, and with the festive season in full swing, Epic Games have released their annual Christmas event, this year titled ‘Operation: Snowdown,’ full of free cosmetics and quests.

On top of that, there are two new weapons for players to use, a new character who plans to bring some icy items to the game, and some new options to help performance and quality of life. Here’s everything you need to know about December 15’s v15.10 patch.

Operation: Snowdown

Fortnite players are accustomed to special Christmas-themed events that act as the final event of the year, and 2020 is no different. Winterfest doesn’t return this year, but Snowmando has their own event this time, with Operation: Snowdown carrying players through to the new year.

As always, there will be new Quests for players to take on, with some free snowy cosmetics and two exclusive Outfits for up grabs. On top of that, there will be new chilling items located around the map, and the return of fan-favorite Limited-Time Modes.

Along with Operation: Snowdown, there are also two new weapons for players to wield. Mancake’s Cowboy Repeater Rifle will be available as floor loot around the island, with Epic Games stating that it “combines a rapid shooting style with dead-eye accuracy.”

The Dragon’s Breath Sniper is an exotic weapon available to purchase from Blaze. With the Dragon’s Breath weapons setting players on fire, there will be a new character introduced who will have their own winter-themed items to cool things down.

Performance Updates

15.10 is also a big update for those playing on next-gen consoles, introducing the new ‘120 FPS Mode’ for a high frame-rate experience. Epic have confirmed that the resolution display will be capped at 1440p on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and 1080p on Xbox Series S.

The developers have also taken on board feedback from the community, and added an option to toggle Pre-Edits on or off. In the off state, new builds will always appear “in their default, unedited state” when placing them.

Bug Fixes

As always, there are also a host of bug fixes designed to address glitches and improve quality of life for players. This week, there are a number of bug fixes confirmed to be included in the update on the official Trello board.

You can read the full list of fixes below.

Terminator set in Fortnite

As Fortnite Season 5 comes closer to its end, new crossovers are being added to the Battle Royale. Now, Epic Games have brought along the T-800 and Sarah Connor as part of a new Terminator skin set.

Fortnite has seen more than its fair share of crossovers throughout the past few years. We’ve seen additions from Halo, God of War, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, and many others. Epic Games have now brought another new addition to the Battle Royale.

Less than a week after the arrival of The Predator, the developers have added brand new Terminator-themed skins to the game. You can choose to play as either the T-800 or Sarah Connor, and here’s how you can get your hands on them.

How to get T-800 and Sarah Connor Fortnite skins

You don’t need to do any special quest or challenge in order to get these skins. You can get yourself the Fortnite x Terminator crossover set by spending some V-Bucks in the Item Shop.

You can pick up the Sarah Connor skin for 1,800, or pay 1,500 to get the T-800. Alternatively, you can purchase the entire bundle for 2,800, which may sound like a lot but you’ll also get some great savings.

You can take a closer look at the prices of the Fortnite Future War set below:

  • Future War Bundle: 2,800 V-Bucks
  • Sarah Connor: 1,800 V-Bucks
  • T-800: 1,500 V-Bucks
  • Techno-Grip Axe: 800 V-Bucks
  • Cyberdyne Salute: 300 V-Bucks

If you purchase the Future War Bundle, then you will also be able to acquire the exclusive T-800 Endoskeleton Arm and HK Skynet Uplink Back Blings, along with the Combat Knife pickaxe. That makes this worth the money you spend.

We don’t know exactly how much longer these skins will be available in the Item Shop, so you’d better hurry up if you want to get your hands on them.

Epic Games respond to leaked Fortnite player logins

Epic Games have denied claims by Fortnite pro Jonathan ‘Yung Calculator’ Weber that their API leaks players’ emails.

There is a growing concern among Fortnite players that their player logins are being leaked through the in-game leaderboard, but Epic Games have reassured fans that their API is safe.

Whenever fans create an online account to play games, their first concern is their privacy security. Developers try to avoid hacker scares but they can still pop up from time to time. One Fortnite fan claimed that this has happened with Epic Games.

Jonathan ‘Yung Calculator’ Weber stated that he was inexplicably logged out of his account and that the battle royale’s in-game leaderboards were leaking players’ personal information – such as their email addresses.

This led to a response from a Fortnite data-miner who denied these claims, and their statement was backed up by Epic themselves.

Epic Games deny leaked Fortnite player logins

Yung Calculator tweeted that Epic Games have not secured player logins, so anyone can access these emails and try to hack accounts, reset passwords or kick players out of a match. Additionally, it will also log you out in-game.

“Guys, Epic Games’ infrastructure is so dogmeat that if you don’t have this turned off, people can find your email,” he said.

“That’s kind of bad on its own, but then if they have your email, they can send password resets to your account. That’s fine normally — on Twitter, it means nothing normally — but on Epic Games, it logs you out in-game.”

He further elaborated that he’s not the only player who has experienced this issue- with Clix, Nick Eh 30, and Nate Hill also being affected. “Epic Games has no idea what they’re doing. Their infrastructure is garbage. They need to change it — it’s disgraceful.”

Fortnite Season 5

Not everyone is convinced that Yung’s claims are true. Fortnite data-miner ‘FNBRUnreleased’ claimed that these kind of leaks are impossible due to the nature of Epic’s API, so there’s no way that your email address can become available to hackers.

“It is not possible to view the email of another person’s Epic [account]. Epic’s API does not work like that. I’ve been seeing this rumor from [Yung Calculator] spreading false information,” they stated.

FNBRUnreleased’s defense for Epic Games has been backed up by the devs themselves who also took to Twitter in order to respond to Yung’s claims.

“We investigated reports that leaderboards were divulging non-public information or causing unauthorized logouts. This is not the case.

“We are certain that affected accounts remain secure, player info (incl. email addresses) isn’t being divulged & any logout issue is resolved.”

At the time of writing, Yung Calc’s tweet is no longer online, so either the player took it down or it was removed by Twitter. Either way, his claims have gathered doubts and Epic Games are standing by the security of their API.

That said, you should always make sure that that you’ve take extra precautions to protect your online information. You can do this by choosing strong passwords that are impossible to guess, and by applying two-factor authentication wherever possible.

Terminator skin set leaked for Fortnite Season 5 via PlayStation Store

A listing on the PlayStation store has teased the Terminator T-800 and Sarah Connor skin coming to Fortnite Season 5.

A listing on the PlayStation store reveals that a Terminator skin is coming to Fortnite Season 5.

Another day, another Fortnite leak. This time, it’s coming straight from the main page of the PlayStation Store, which depicts an upcoming crossover between Terminator and Fortnite. This pack will include both the T-800 Terminator and Sarah Connor.

The Sarah Connor skin has been teased for some time now, considering early this morning the official Fortnite Twitter account posted a transmission that alluded to the addition of the crossover. You can see for yourself in the tweet below.

Players were not expecting the T-800 Terminator skin, since the transmission only mentions Sarah Connor, but since the ad clearly has the Terminator front and center, we know he’ll be in the pack as well.

It’s unknown if Epic Games plans to feature Arnold Schwarzenegger as a skin variant for the Terminator.

Hopefully, we’ll see the skin in the item shop as early as tonight. If not the skins should make their appearances in the coming days. Be sure to keep your eye out each day for the store refreshes.

If you pick up the skin, be sure to Tweet us @CharlieIntel, or tag our friends @FortniteIntel.
