Fortnite 17.00 Update patch notes
Fortnite Season 7 trailer
Aliens invade in Season 7
Fortnite Season 7’s theme is “Invasion,” with aliens arriving on the Island. While downtime is ongoing, it seems like Aliens could be NPCs this season, while players will be able to fly around the map in the UFOs that have been abducting people over the last few weeks.
Rick & Morty, Superman, join Fortnite
Fortnite has become well-known for its weird and wacky crossovers, and Season 7 will be no different. Rick Sanchez has already been spotted in the Season 7 trailer posted above, and wherever you find him, Morty is sure to follow.
Find out how to unlock Rick Sanchez in Fortnite 7 with our in-depth guide.
On top of that, Epic also teased that Superman would be appearing as well this season, and now the man of steel has arrived with his own cosmetics set. You can learn how to unlock the Superman skin in our guide.
Four new weapons & Llama adjustments
As always, Fortnite fans can expect to get their hands on new hardware this season, with four new weapons joining the game.
The Kymera Ray Gun is an “alien weapon that emits a continuous deadly ray,” which deals 9 damage to enemies with an infinite magazine size. The Pulse Rifle will offer a more long-range approach, dealing 33 damage, and can switch between full and semi-automatic depending on whether you are hip firing the gun or aiming down sights.
The Recon Scanner will launch a bolt that will mark nearby enemies and chests, and will deal a huge 98 damage should you hit a player directly. Finally, the Rail Gun will deal a huge 85 damage, but you’ll need to charge it up before you fire, making it a slow fire-rate option.
On top of all that, we know that Loot Llamas are also getting an upgrade, but we don’t know the specifics of that just yet.
Fortnite Season 7 map changes
Unlike previous seasons, Fortnite’s island hasn’t received a major revamp during the Season 7 update. Sweaty Sands and Colossal Crops have been renamed to Believers Beach and Corny Complex, but haven’t been changed significantly.
One major change though is the giant spaceship that is currently floating above the island. To see all the updates, you can check out our guide on all the Fortnite Season 7 map changes.

Fortnite Gold Cube: Location, travel path & more
The Gold Cube in Fortnite Season 8 has started to move, but what’s it for and where is it going? We’ve got the lowdown right here.
Fortnite Season 8 is here with plenty of Cube-themed content for players to tackle. One of the most mysterious new additions is the Fortnite Gold Cube which has begun traveling around the map. Here’s where to find it and where it’s headed.
Fortnite Season 8 Cubed has landed, and it’s brought with it a whole host of new changes to the world-famous battle royale. From another Marvel crossover with Venom and Carnage to an entirely new dimension called The Sideways.
In a throwback to the first season, Epic has also brought back Kevin the Cube, and he isn’t alone this time.
A strange Gold Cube can also be seen rolling around among the numerous alien Cubes populating the map. Here’s everything we know about it so far.
What does the Fortnite Gold Cube do?
The actual purpose of the Gold Cube is currently unknown. When the other purple squares began making their moves, it remained stationary but has since started to travel as well.
This more prestigious Cube will likely play a massive part in the end-of-season event that will take place before Season 9 begins.
As always, we will keep you updated with any fresh news on what role the Fortnite Gold Cube will play.
Fortnite Gold Cube location
The mysterious Fortnite Gold Cube started near Holly Hedges and Weeping Woods before it began its long journey.
At the time of writing, it can be found in between Boney Burbs and Believer Beach, and it is set to head towards Pleasant Park.
As the object now appears to be continuously moving, its location will change drastically throughout Season 8.
It is expected to go past many of the named locations around the outskirts of the map before reaching its final destination.
If the Cube is moving, then where exactly is it going? Well, according to a leak from dataminer HYPEX, the Fortnite Gold Cube – along with every other alien square – is actually heading to the center of the map.
This location has been significant for some time in Epic’s ongoing narrative, especially in the Zero Point storyline that has dominated many of the game’s seasons.
It appears that all of the Cubes, except Blue, which is yet to budge, will all be meeting in the same place eventually.
What happens when all of the Cubes make their way to the middle remains to be seen, but if history is anything to go by, then fans can expect something big when they are reunited.

New leak claims Fortnite is adding another Warzone feature
Some new Fortnite leaks suggest that Epic Games are planning to implement a feature from Warzone in the game.
Some new leaks have emerged which suggest that Epic Games will be adding the sliding mechanic from Call of Duty: Warzone to Fortnite in a future update.
Battle Royale titles are highly competitive, and fans often call for these games to take inspiration from each other. Apex Legends players want Warzone’s matchmaking, and Warzone fans want Halo: Infinite’s Battle Pass system.
These leaks came from notable data miner HYPEX, who claims that the Fortnite developers are working on a new movement type in the game. This will come with a few benefits for players.
“It will increase your FOV by 15 when you’re sliding and it will make your camera shake, with a cooldown of 2 seconds,” HYPEX tweeted. “I don’t know the release date or if it’s gonna be an item!”
This sliding movement has been a staple of both Apex Legends and Warzone, so it might provide to be an exciting addition to Fortnite.
It’s worth keeping in mind that this is currently just a leak, and you should take this information with a grain of salt until Epic Games confirms this. If it’s true, then this might be an exciting change.
The developers could introduce a cooldown timer so that players don’t abuse this mechanic in combat. If it arrives in the game soon, then we will probably see some big changes in player tactics.
We’ll keep checking for updates regarding this. For more Fortnite, check out all the Bounty Board Locations in Season 8, and stay tuned to Charlie INTEL!
