Popular Fortnite data miner and leaker HYPEX has confirmed that Chapter 3 is set to launch after Season 8 ends, with the Black Hole making a return.
Back in 2019, Fortnite Season X concluded with a huge Black Hole event that shut down the game for almost two days. When Fortnite went back online, players dropped into Chapter 2 and a brand new map.
Leaks have indicated that the Black Hole could return at the end of Season 8, but now data miner HYPEX has confirmed that there will be no Season 9, and instead, we’ll finally see Chapter 3.
Following the 18.40 patch notes, data miners discovered that the Season 8 event would be called The End. Some dismissed this as a placeholder title, but HYPEX confirmed players’ theories.

“Now that ‘The End’ playlist got leaked I can finally talk about this: Chapter 3 is planned to launch on December 7th (It’s SOO good btw),” tweeted HYPEX on November 16. “And the Blackhole stays during 5th-6th.”
Season 8 is set to end on December fifth, so it appears that the servers will go down until the seventh while Epic Games applies the massive Chapter 3 update.
Of course, these are just leaks and there’s no official confirmation that Chapter 3 will arrive so soon. However, HYPEX is confident in his sources: “These sources were NEVER wrong about many things, if they’re wrong this time I’ll take the blame.”
There have been plenty of other hints that Season 8 would be the end of Chapter 2. One example is when Donald Mustard, Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer, tweeted in September that “CH2 S8 and the two after it are maybe my very favorite parts.” Many took the “two after it” to be a tease that there won’t be a Season 9.
Again, these are just leaks and rumors right now, but we expect Epic Games will provide a more concrete update in the coming weeks. So stay tuned to Charlie INTEL, as we’ll keep you updated with any developments.

How to get Fortnite Nick Fury skin: S.H.I.E.L.D Set bundle & price
Fortnite has added the Marvel character Nick Fury as a new skin, and here’s how you can get your hands on the S.H.I.E.L.D Set.
Epic Games have added the Marvel character Nick Fury as a new skin in Fortnite, and here’s everything you need to know about the new S.H.I.E.L.D Set, including the price.
Fortnite has done multiple collaborations with Marvel in the past, with Carnage and Venom joining in Season 8, and the Season 4 Battle Pass consisting of superheroes. Spider-Man is also rumored to be arriving soon.
Epic Games aren’t done with Marvel characters just as Nick Fury has been added as a brand-new skin for players to unlock in Fortnite, complete with his own back bling, glider, and bundle.
Here’s how you can add these to your inventory.
How to get Nick Fury Fortnite bundle
Nick Fury is the director of the organization S.H.I.E.L.D and works closely with the Avengers. Epic Games added his outfit to the Fortnite Item Shop on November 26, and you can also get the S.H.I.E.L.D Set.
Here’s everything in the S.H.I.E.L.D Set:
- Nick Fury outfit
- F.I.E.L.D Pack Back Bling
- Director’s Scythe Pickaxe
- First-Strike Infiltration Glider
- Quinjets in Flight Loading Screen
Fury has played a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, and his Fortnite skin is based on his appearance in those. The Back Bling is included with the outfit, but you’ll have to purchase the Pickaxe and Glider separately.
Fortnite Nick Fury bundle price
Nick Fury’s outfit and Back Bling bundle cost 1,500 V-Bucks while the Glider and Pickaxe cost 800 V-Bucks each. Alternatively, you could spring for the whole S.H.I.E.L.D set for just 2,000 V-Bucks.
This costs the same as a Legendary skin includes all of these items, making it one of the cheapest bundles in the game. You can then equip the Nick Fury outfit as you battle Sideways Cube Monsters.
This bundle is an exciting addition for both Marvel and Fortnite fans. Epic Games might introduce even more crossovers before Season 8 ends, as there are other popular franchises that they can collaborate with.

How to turn on split-screen in Fortnite
If you want to play Fortnite with your friend on the same console then here’s how you can activate the game’s split-screen mode.
If you want to play Fortnite with a buddy on your console then you can activate the split-screen feature that Epic Games added in 2019. Here’s how you can get this done.
There are plenty of fun activities for you to enjoy when you hop into a game of Fortnite, such as completing Character Punchcard Quests, collecting bounties, and unlocking cosmetics like the Naruto skin.
If you want to play with a friend on the same console, you can turn on Fortnite’s split-screen feature so that each player’s POV appears on one half of the screen, letting you both share the fun.
How to use split-screen in Fortnite
Initially, Fortnite did not have this feature and your only hope of playing with a friend was to join them online on separate devices. This changed when Epic Games added split-screen play in Chapter 2.
Here’s how you can activate it:
- Launch Fortnite and head to the main lobby
- Turn on the second controller, and log into the second player’s account
- Press Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button to log in player two to the game.
- Both players will then appear in the lobby
However, this setting is can only be used when playing Duos or Squads. You can only activate split-screen on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as this feature is not available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
Each player will have their own separate inventory of items to collect when playing Fortnite in split-screen mode. One of the major drawbacks is that the game session will end if just one of the two players gets disconnected.
Cutting your screen size in half can limit what you see in the game, so you’ll need to ensure that you and your teammate are both coordinated and providing information to each other during battles.

When does Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 start? Chapter 2, Season 8 end date
Fortnite Season 8’s conclusion will bring in Chapter 3, so here’s everything you need to know about the dates and upcoming content.
Fortnite Season 8 is close to its end, and players are ready for what’s coming next. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 release date, and when Chapter 2, Season 8 will end.
We’re nearing the end of Fortnite Season 8, and the final update of the season has added a ton of new content.
On top of Marvel’s Carnage joining the Season 8 Battle Pass, the likes of The Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes and the Cube Queen have also joined the party since launch. And now a massive Naruto crossover is taking place.
Now as we approach the end of the season, players are already thinking about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. Here’s everything we know about the next major update.
- When does Fortnite Season 8 end?
- Fortnite Chapter 3 start date
- Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass
- How much will the Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass cost?
When does Fortnite Season 8 end?
Epic Games announced that Fortnite Season 8, and Chapter 2, will conclude on December 4, 2021, with The End event.
This is one day earlier than the date that was displayed in the Season 8 Battle Pass, which tells players how long they have to rank up and complete challenges to unlock new skins and cosmetic items.
Because the season ends a day earlier than expected, Epic Games have awarded all players who log in before the end of the season an extra 225,000 XP.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 start date
It’s unlikely that Fortnite Chapter 3 will begin immediately after Season 8, as it will likely enter a downtime after the The End event.
The downtime between Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 lasted almost two days, and this one could last around a similar time.
According to HYPEX, we could expect that Fortnite Chapter 3 will start on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. But, this was before we know that Season 8 would end a day early.
What will be in the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass?
Unfortunately, it’s too early to say with any certainty what will be in the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass. Epic has a long history of crossing over with popular franchises, so expect to see some familiar faces.
The early December start date lines up with the release of the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Marvel character has leaked previously and could easily be a Battle Pass skin.
Also, there have been leaks that Neo from The Matrix will arrive in the second half of December, which will be in the early weeks of Chapter 3, Season 1.
How much will the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass cost?
While we don’t know the exact cost of the Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass yet, it will likely cost 950 V-Bucks. You’ll be able to purchase the smallest bundle containing 1,000 V-Bucks for $7.99 / £6.49 from the Item Shop.
If you want to unlock the first 25 tiers of the Battle Pass right away, then you can spring for the Battle Bundle upgrade, costing $19.99 / £15.99. This will grant you 2,500 V-Bucks, along with an additional 300 for free.
We’ll be sure to update this article as more details about Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, become available, so stay tuned!
