Fortnite leak shows “Dynamic Ice” coming soon
The Fortnite Season 5 Holiday update will bring a new mechanic called “Dynamic Ice” to the game.
Fortnite’s Winterfest is upon us, which will likely bring us free skins and a festive map update to celebrate the Holiday season. Previous leaks have pointed to a Slurp Bazooka, a Christmas Flopper, and Snowman NPC, and now leakers are talking about “Dynamic Ice”.
The Holiday updates trailer has already been leaked by Fortnite leaker “Mang0e”, and depicts a holiday theme for the game, snowmen, and a festive plane in the distance.
Additionally, with the leak of the Trailer, Mang0e found that environmental ice is mentioned in the game’s files.
Apparently, it has been in the works alongside fire in patch 15.00. With this system, Ice will be melted by fire and there also may be a way for water to turn into ice as well. If this does come to the game, it will most definitely be used for Winterfest. The purpose of the electricity effect is currently unknown.
Of course with leaks, you’ll want to take this with a grain of salt. Nothing is confirmed until Epic announces it, and out of all the recent leaks this one holds the least substance due to it being based off a few strings in the games files.
Hopefully, we do see this mechanic added to the game though, perhaps the lakes in the game will freeze to ice and we will be able to break the ice with this mechanic.
Whatever it does, we’re sure to find out if it makes it in the Holiday update, which is due to release by December 20, if all follows past Fortnite winter event schedules.
