Fortnite has seen various real-life entertainers, and professional athletes become playable characters in the popular video game. A recent report points towards NBA legend LeBron James being the next Fortnite Icon Series skin.
Epic Games is no stranger when it comes to bringing monumental crossovers to the Fortnite Universe. Many of these crossovers have to do with other entertainment franchises like Marvel and DC, but others deal with real-life people, most notably when it comes to the Icon Series.
A recent report from a notable leaker in the community states that the next skin for the Icon Series will be none other than NBA star LeBron James.

The report of the possible Fortnite LeBron James Icon Series skin comes from Shiina, who has been known to be one of the top leakers in the Fortnite world and has had many leaks and reports come true in the past.
Shiina took to Twitter on July 5 and reported that they had exclusively learned that a Fortnite LeBron James Icon Series skin is coming to the game in the future.
This addition of the Los Angeles Lakers player would not be out of the norm, as the game previously collaborated with the NBA in The Crossover event.
The community was treated to a first look at what the upcoming Fortnite LeBron skin will look like, thanks to reputable community member iFireMonkey on July 12, 2021. You can check out the new cosmetic item below, which consists of three different versions.
Fortnite has also seen other real-life athletes become skins in the game, such as soccer superstars Harry Kane and Marco Reus, so it would not be surprising to see arguably the most famous basketball player in the world become a playable character to add to Fortnite’s already extensive list of crossover skins.
There has been no information regarding a possible release date for this Fortnite LeBron James Icon Series skin, but we will update this piece with any information regarding the arrival of this cosmetic item when it becomes available.
