December 2 has finally arrived, and that means Fortnite fans have lots of new content to sink their teeth into thanks the arrival of Season 5. Here’s everything you need to know about the 15.00 update.

Season 4 came to its dramatic conclusion on December 1 when Galactus attacked the island, and attempted to eat the Zero Point that holds Fortnite’s reality in place. Thanks to some help from Marvel superheroes, the ‘Devourer of Worlds’ was sent packing, but not before he altered the Fortnite island massively.

The Zero Point energy ball is now exposed, and Jonesy has called in seven of the universe’s greatest hunters to protect it, and stop players from escaping the reality.

As always, the new season update for Fortnite brings new weapons and items, major updates to the loot pool, and much more. Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Season 5.

Bounties

One of the major additions to Fortnite Season 5 is the bounty system. With seven great hunters now roaming the island, including Star Wars’ Mandalorian, your job is to help them by taking on quests and bounties.

You can choose to team up by hiring them, or you can challenge them to a battle. The choice is yours, with rewards on offer for those who go toe-to-toe with these powerful warriors.

If you want to hire them, you’ll need Bars. These can be earned by completing quests or bounties, eliminating players, or finding them hidden across the island. You can spend your newly-acquired hardware on rare weapons, upgrades, intel, services, and more.

New Weapons

New weapons are a must for any new Fortnite season, and this one is no different. The Dragon Shotgun will help players “unleash their fiery rage” according to Epic, while Mandalorian’s Amban sniper rifle won’t just take down enemies at range, but can also be used as a melee weapon.

There are also seven new Floppers to catch, along with the Shadow Tracker, and more.

  • Dragon Shotgun
  • Shadow Tracker
  • New Floppers
    • Tiger Zero Fish
    • Leafy Zero Fish
    • Skull Zero Fish
    • Rift-To-Go Flopper
    • Sandstorm Rift Flopper
    • Zero Point Flopper
  • Bounty Board
  • Gold Bars & Safe
  • Boom’s Sniper Rifle (Mythic)
  • Amban Sniper Rifle (Mythic)
  • Mandalorian’s Jetpack (Mythic)

Loot Pool Changes

Along with new items, we’ve also seen some return from the game’s vault, with the Charge Shotgun and P90 reappearing, along with the Storm Scout Rifle and more.

  • Charge Shotgun
  • Double Barrel Shotgun
  • P90
  • SMG
  • Storm Scout Rifle
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Balloons

Of course, bringing some items back means others have to leave to make room, with the Pump Shotgun controversially exiting the game once again. Just because an item is vaulted doesn’t mean we won’t ever see it again though, so don’t panic if one of your favorites is gone.

  • Revolver
  • Fire Trap
  • Scoped Assault Rifle
  • Epic/Legendary Pump Shotgun
  • Legendary Combat Shotgun
  • Scar
  • Epic/Legendary Tac SMG

Bug Fixes

It’s rare that Epic releases a patch without some fixes for glitches that have been affecting the game, and the v15.00 update is no different. The developers have fixed an issue where it was impossible to bind the same key to different actions for those who play with a keyboard, and have also removed the Bash Burner pickaxe from competitive playlists while they investigate a problem with it.

  • Huntress Outfit appearing as Ramirez or another Outfit.
  • Impossible to bind the same key to different actions with Keyboard.
  • Bash Burner Pickaxe temporarily disabled in competitive playlists.

Fortnite Crew

If you want to cancel your subscription to Fortnite Crew for any reason, Epic Games have made it incredibly easy to do.

Fortnite Crew is a monthly subscription service for Fortnite. It offers each season’s Battle Pass, exclusive cosmetics, and 1,000 V-Bucks to your balance each month.

January gave subscribers a Green Arrow skin and on February 1, Fortnite Crew members will receive the new Vi skin, along with a back bling, pickaxe, wrap, and loading screen.

Vi Fortnite Crew cosmetics

If you regularly purchase cosmetics from the Item Shop and each season’s Battle Pass, the Fortnite Crew is a great deal. However, it costs $11.99 USD a month, so for many, it won’t be worth it.

If you don’t feel like you’re getting your money’s worth or want to cancel for any other reason, then follow this simple guide.

How to leave Fortnite Crew

Usually, when trying to get a refund or leave a subscription service, you have to jump through several hoops to do it. Whether that’s navigating through five different pages on a website or giving them a reason, it feels like they’re trying to put you off doing it.

Thankfully, Fortnite has made it as simple as possible to leave Fortnite Crew as you can do it right inside the game. Another excellent part of this deal is that you get to keep everything you’ve paid for so far.

Leaving Fortnite Crew screen

Here’s how to leave Fortnite Crew:

  • Open Fortnite
  • Go to the Item Shop tab
  • Navigate to the ‘Crew’ section
  • Click ‘Cancellation Info’
  • Select ‘Leave Fortnite Crew’

It’s as simple as that! You will no longer be paying for Fortnite Crew. Everything you have collected through your subscription will still be there, and you can always join back up if you fancy it.

If at any point you want to re-join Fortnite Crew, simply go to the Item Shop and sign back up.

Epic Games tease new Fortnite Crew skin

Epic Games dropped a few tweets hinting at a new Crew skin for Drift, and then deleted these posts just a few hours later.

New Drift Crew skin teased in Fortnite

The official Fortnite Twitter account changed its avatar, and threw in a few cryptic teasers for the ‘Fox Clan’ before deleting these new posts just a few hours later. These tweets hinted at a new Crew skin for Drift.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is set to end on March 15, 2021, and it has brought a ton of exciting crossovers with franchises such as Predator, and Halo. Now, players are wondering what Epic Games will introduce in the next big update.

On January 24, the battle royale’s official Twitter account changed its avatar and tweeted out a couple of teasers that let us know what might see in the future. These tweets were deleted after a few hours, but this has led to mass speculation among fans.

Fortnite Drift Crew Pack Skin HYPEX Leak

New Fortnite Drift Crew skins teased

Both tweets referenced a character named Drift, who was a character introduced in Fortnite Chapter 1, Season 5. The first post was the beginning of a scan, and it included the cryptic message: “Drift? Drift. Come in. Do you read me?”

The second tweet consisted of an ominous warning: “I know you don’t know who I am, but the Fox Clan is in trouble. We need you.” We haven’t seen the Fox Clan in Fortnite before, but this seems to tie in with the account’s new avatar.

Reliable Fortnite data miner HYPEX tweeted that the new teasers are related to a new Fortnite Crew skin for Drift, which seem to be a gender-bent version of the character. They then confirmed the skin will be part of the Fortnite Crew subscription in February.

If you have this monthly subscription model, you can get the Battle Pass along with 1,000 V-bucks when the new Season goes live. HYPEX confirmed that the new Drift skin will be part of an upcoming Crew Pack.

The official Fortnite account then posted a few more tweets and then backtracked by deleting all of the posts in which they teasing this new content. They even changed the account’s avatar back to its previous image.

Now, this could mean that the teasers were part of a grander scheme that Epic Games have yet to fully reveal, or maybe they deleted the teasers because they accidentally revealed these plans earlier than they had initially planned.

So far, we haven’t gotten any new information from Epic Games about what this is all building up to. HYPEX and other data miners have also not posted any additional information at the time of writing.

Drift’s original kitsune appearance and skins made him a fan-favorite during his time in the battle royale, so Epic Games releasing a new skin for him is certainly intriguing. Hopefully, these rumors will bear fruit, and we’ll get learn more about this soon.
