All map changes in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2: New POIs, Mega City, Steamy Springs & more

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 brings an interesting Japanese theme to the game, as Fortnite Mega takes over the island. Here are all the map changes introduced in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 update has finally arrived, and it’s yet another major overhaul to Epic’s long-running battle royale. Update v24.00 introduced a host of new weapons to experiment with, as well as the much-anticipated Attack on Titan crossover as part of the Battle Pass.

One of the most exciting parts of any major update is how it impacts the map, and Fortnite Mega has brought some drastic changes to the island that will seriously alter the flow of matches this season.

Here’s every map change in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 update.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 map

The Fortnite Mega update added a whole new biome to the southeast section of the map, which features a mix of traditional and futuristic landmarks inspired by Japanese culture.

Mega City

The biggest new location in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is Mega City, a huge metropolis found east of Frenzy Fields. Much like Neo-Tilted that came before it, Mega City features huge buildings to loot and bright advertising boards to give it a real cyberpunk feel.

Players can navigate the busy streets quickly by hopping onto grind rails, allowing them to shoot at enemies while rotating to a new position.

Steamy Springs

In the areas surrounding Mega City, players will find locations with a more traditional feel like Steamy Springs. This beautiful Japanese town is littered with smaller houses to discover and pink cherry blossom trees.

Expect this to be a popular landing spot in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, as players look to avoid the chaos found in the city.

Kenjutsu Crossing

Right at the bottom of the new Fortnite biome you’ll find Kenjutsu Crossing, a more peaceful area overlooking Mega City. Along with some smaller temples to poke around in, the centerpiece is a large dojo at the southeasternmost point of the map.

It also comes with a long bridge to connect it to Steamy Springs, providing an easy route for players to exploit at the beginning of a match.

Knotty Nets

The fourth and final new location in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is Knotty Nets, a quaint fishing village on the east side of the new area. While it’s not quite as big as the other locations, it still has plenty to offer players in a match.

It’s fairly tucked away at the side of the map, so there won’t be as many enemies to contend with right away. As an island, Knotty Nets will also be full of fishing spots that are ideal for completing Quests and picking up loot.

Faulty Splits removed

With so many new POIs to explore, there was always going to be at least one location removed, and Faulty Splits didn’t quite make the cut this time around. Mega City is built on almost the exact same spot where the Season 1 hotspot was situated.

While many will be sad to see Faulty Splits go after just a single season, Epic have made up for it by extending the surrounding areas and packing in four new major landing spots to try out.
