Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 map changes: All new & removed POIs
Epic GamesThe Fortnite island looks drastically different following the Chapter 5 Season 2 update, so here’s a breakdown of all map changes that arrived with Myths and Mortals, including every new and removed POI.
Following weeks of teasers and hype, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has finally arrived. After the Pandora’s Box event gave players a taste of what was to come, the update has rolled out and players are busy grinding the new Battle Pass and tracking down new Mythics.
The latest era features a Greek mythology theme, with gods like Zeus and Ares taking over the island. To match this, the map has also been given a complete makeover, including some fresh POIs to explore.
So, here are all the map changes in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.
All new locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
There are four new POIs to find on the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 map, giving the island a totally different flavor compared to the previous season. As you’d expect, each one recreates an iconic location from Greek myth.
Check out a closer look at each new POI in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 below:
Mount Olympus
Arguably the biggest new arrival is Mount Olympus, which can be found in the southeast part of the island in the desert biome. The home of Zeus sits on top of a mountain, with a huge statue keeping an eye on you at all times.
Brawler’s Battleground
Just south of Mount Olympus is the Brawler’s Battleground, a large arena where Ares, the god of war, waits for players to challenge him.
Grim Gate
Then, in the northeast corner of the map, a shadowy new biome has been added. Here, players will have to avoid Cerberus to cross the river at the Grim Gate.
The Underworld
After making it through the Grim Gate in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, you can continue into The Underworld where Hades is lurking.
All removed locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
The overhaul to the map in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 means that two locations have had to make way: Ritzy Riviera and Hazy Hillside. The former was removed in favor of the Underworld and the Grim Gate, while Mount Olympus is found in the same spot as Hazy.
While some players will no doubt be sad to see these landing spots go, there’s every chance that they could return once the Greek theme is over and done with at the end of Season 2.
