Fortnite leak claims Devil May Cry & Avatar collabs are on the way
CapcomFortnite is known for collaborating with the biggest IPs in the entertainment space, and according to a recent leak, the game could be set to welcome characters from Devil May Cry and James Cameron’s Avatar in the future.
Over the years, Epic Games have partnered up with some of the biggest entertainment franchises in existence, turning Fortnite into the ultimate destination for crossovers. From Star Wars and Marvel to God of War and Halo, the Battle Royale title features skins modeled after characters that are bonafide pop culture icons.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 continued the trend of phenomenal crossovers by roping in Family Guy’s Peter Griffin and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid among others. The game even added cosmetics themed around music superstars such as Eminem and The Weeknd just a few weeks ago.
While Epic does its best to keep upcoming collaborations confidential, information tends to slip through the cracks and leak online. Speaking of which, a recent leak from Shpeshal_Nick of the XboxEra podcast has hinted at the arrival of characters from Devil May Cry and James Cameron’s Avatar in Fortnite.
The rumor was picked up by Fornite insiders HYPEX and ShiinaBR, and quickly became a subject of excitement among players. While the information is yet to be officially confirmed, the source has been credited with leaking the Doom and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossovers in the past.
Speaking on the DMC rumor, Shpeshal_Nick stated that his source is confident of Dante landing in Fortnite, but is less sure about the characters accompanying him. If the Devil May Cry leak holds any weight, we could see the likes of Nero and Vergil join Dante on the Battle Bus.
Besides this, he also spoke on the potential arrival of Avatar’s Jake Sully in Fortnite, but expressed uncertainty saying, “The Na’Vi are, like, super tall. I don’t know how that would work in Fortnite.”
It’s best to take both rumors with a grain of salt, although that hasn’t stopped players online from getting hyped. In reaction to the rumors, one user commented “Avatar is kind of expected, little late but I like it. Devil May Cry collab is freaking soo cool and random! Go epic for supporting so many different genres and player interests.”
It remains to be seen if the rumored collabs actually come to fruition. Until then, you can check out an underrated trick to counter Ballistic Shields in Fortnite and the Chapter 5 feature deemed ‘underwhelming’ by players.
