New Fortnite leaks suggest that the developers are working on a new open-world game mode, which will reportedly feature its own storyline.

Epic Games has recently been on a transformative spree with Fortnite. What was once a battle royale, is slowly turning into a platform for different games like Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival.

A new leak suggests that Epic Games is working on a brand new open-world Fortnite game which is code named ‘Arnold.’ There’s no official name or release date for the game yet, however, leakers claim that this new mode will probably go live sometime in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.

Posted by ‘Egyptian Fortnite Leaker’ on X (formerly Twitter), this new mode is said to have multiple biomes and different NPCs, including bosses. There will be a few NPCs who will be selling items as well.

This new open-world experience is currently rated 12+ according to the leak, and will most likely have features that are seen in the main BR mode and LEGO Fortnite. They also suggested that this new game in Fortnite will have scripted sequences, indicating the possibility of a storyline.

One of the most prominent features will reportedly be that the POIs are dynamic. It’s believed that with time, these locations will evolve and transform into something else keeping the available content fresh.

As for the biomes, players will be able to explore grasslands and deserts, just like in LEGO Fortnite. However, it’s worth noting that this new open-world mode in Fortnite, isn’t related to the survival sandbox game at all.

Considering it has a storyline, it remains to be seen if the narrative will tie into the lore of the main game. Of course, this is all just a leak for now, so take it with a pinch of salt until the devs officially announce it.
