Fortnite player discovers hidden trick to steal Ride the Lightning power

Metallica finally arrived in Fortnite with much more content than players expected. Chapter 5 Season 3 of the battle royale changed Loot Island and added the brand-new Ride the Lightning Mythic item.
The guitar Mythic was received with mixed opinions, and players are still trying to get used to the meta as the latest update also added more new items and unvaulted other fan favorites. Meanwhile, others are discovering hidden tricks that can change the game when using or countering Ride the Lightning.
Reddit user ‘Dobbles69’ shared a short clip of a match and revealed that “You can ride other people’s lightning trails” after they use Ride the Lightning.
The Metallica item is great for escaping tricky situations or dealing with many opponents at once, as it launches you into the air and makes you move in unpredictable directions. But, as seen in the OP’s clip, Ride the Lightning also leaves a trail that looks like Metallica’s letter M for a short while after usage.
‘Dobbles69’ showed you can interact with that trail and use it like a limited-time Ride the Lightning, without needing the item in your inventory. This is particularly useful in late game stages like the one shown in the clip, where everything turns to chaos thanks to the current meta favoring armed vehicles.
