Useless Fortnite attachment is ruining the best close-range weapon

With the availability of mod benches, you can outfit your weapons with whatever attachment you want, provided you have the necessary Gold Bars for it. But there are some attachments that ruin the weapon instead of improving their efficiency.
As mentioned on Reddit by Strong_Speed2552, the scope attachment on Shotguns felt completely unnatural and the Fortnite community rallied to call out the useless attachment.
Replying to the post, a player said, “I don’t think they should spawn naturally with them ever,” while another player added, “It actually makes the gun worse IMO because you lose the ability to take advantage of third-person peeks while tightening the shotgun spread.”
While scopes can usually help you land precision shots at a distance, Shotguns are not effective at long range. That aside, since you’ll use this weapon during close-quarters combat scenarios, your peripheral vision needs to be less obstructed. A scope will block most of your peripheral vision while aiming down the sights.
Most players agreed that the scope on Shotguns ruins the weapon in Fortnite. Some even went further and added that they removed the scope from the weapon whenever they got the chance.
So, if you’ve picked up a Shotgun with a scope and want to get rid of it, here’s what you need to do:
- Head to one of the many mod benches available on the island.
- Interact with the bench and select the scope.
- Depending on the platform you’re on, press the following buttons to remove the scope: Square on PlayStation, Y on Switch, X on Xbox, and X on PC.
While it’s unclear if Epic Games will adjust the Shotguns in a way that they drop without scopes, the game is set to see some other changes in the Fortnite 30.20 update, including adjustments to the drop rates of the most hated AR in the game.
