Fortnite players slam “scummy” V-Bucks grind in Chapter 5 Battle Pass
Epic GamesThe Fortnite Battle Pass rewards players with V-Bucks when they reach certain tiers in the game. Players, however, believe that it was easier to earn V-Bucks through the Battle Pass in the previous seasons than it is in Chapter 5 Season 1.
In Fortnite, one of the few ways through which players can get V-Bucks for free is by purchasing the Battle Pass and then progressing through the tiers. To progress through these tiers, players are required to play the game and complete challenges as well.
The Fortnite Battle Pass provides enough V-Bucks that players can purchase the next seasonal Battle Pass. However, players believe that the grind has increased.
As mentioned by ‘ozh’ on Reddit, players need to reach Level 141 to unlock all the V-Bucks that the current Fortnite Battle Pass has to offer.
One player said, “Yeah I was just thinking about how much it sucks they’ve started putting Vbucks in the extra rewards. It used to be you got the full v Buck value of the pass by level 100, now you’ve got to get to 141 for the same number. They’re really making it a chore to get what we got much easier in the past.”
Before Chapter 5 Season 1, players could get 1500 V-Bucks in Fortnite by reaching level 100 in the Battle Pass. In the current season, to get the full amount, players need to grind an additional 41 levels.
Redditor ‘Nonefariousness’ said, “It’s even more scummy when you realize they swapped Daily Quests with Match Quests. So if you want all the V-Bucks, you have to play multiple matches on most days.”
While many players were unhappy about the grind, other players shared tips on how to level up quickly in Fortnite. From completing the Match Quests in the Rumble mode, to AFK farming in LEGO Fortnite, players shared many ideas on how to make the most of the Fortnite Battle Pass.
Amidst players sharing tips on leveling up quicker, there were others who were concerned about Epic Games cutting down on the amount of V-Bucks that players could earn through the Battle Pass.
However, a majority of players believe that Fortnite still has the best Battle Pass system in the gaming industry right now. So there’s very little chance of Epic Games changing the reward structure that they currently follow.
