Fortnite Winterfest 2024 update: Leaks & everything we know
Epic GamesFortnite’s annual winter updates are a tradition that has been in the game since 2017. Each year Epic Games adds Christmas-themed decor to the island, along with free items for players to grab.
In December 2024, with the arrival of Chapter 6 Season 1, this year’s Winterfest is looking no different. Players have already started to spot leaks about the incoming cosmetics and gameplay items that will be added in the v33.11 holiday update.

Fortnite Winterfest 2024 release date
According to leaks, Winterfest 2024 releases in Fortnite on December 19, 2024.
A hotfix v31.11 is said to bring Christmas-themed content to the game that will add festive decorations and much more to Chapter 6 Season 1. However, as of now, no confirmed date has been officially announced by Epic.

Snoop Dogg, Shaq & more holiday skins
First up, the Doggfather Snoop Dogg is coming back to the game with his third in-game skin-themed after the holiday season, called the Snoop on the Stoop skin. The leak comes from trusted data miner ShiinaBR.
NBA legend Shaq is also receiving his own holiday-themed cosmetic outfit which is joining his existing two outfits in the game. Furthermore, a Batter Boi skin is also arriving in the game, which ties up with the Soft Service Boots (a new Kicks cosmetic) that’s included in one of the Christmas offerings.
A Christmas Tree Guff Spray and Snowman Bird Music Pack have also been decrypted as they’re rumored to be included in the holiday gifts.
Winterfest Cabin returns with gifts
According to leaks, the Winterfest Cabin is finally returning in Winterfest 2024 after two years of its absence. The cabin is itself another menu within the Fortnite lobby that allows players to open one gift each day all the way until Christmas.
The cabin houses Crackshot who guards the gifts in front of a Christmas Tree and can also be greeted when you spend time in the lobby. In the past, players have received gifts such as free skins, gliders like the Millennium Falcon, and more cosmetic items which are now rare.
Winterfest quests and rewards
Winterfest 2024 is also bringing a set of themed quests in the game that players will be able to complete in exchange for free XP and rewards. As of yet, four rewards have been decrypted that can be claimed as Winterfest goes on.
They are De-Rezz Tally Back Bling, Llama Llightbulb Emoticon, Crashed Chiller Spray, and Choose Naughty Spray. As of now, the quests remain encrypted as Fortnite is likely to roll these out with the v33.11 update.
Cars collaboration
One of the major highlights of the Winterfest update is an epic collaboration with Disney that will kick off with v33.11, and that is with the popular Cars franchise. Numerous leaks over the months have hinted that Lightning McQueen will arrive in the game as a vehicle and Radiator Springs will also be a location in some way.
However given that Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is entirely themed after Japanese legends, the iconic location will most likely be inside a UEFN map in the game.
New Ice Skates item
Lastly, the final item coming to Fortnite with Winterfest 2024 is Ice Skates, which will allow players to skate on snow or icy water around the island. Since players can already swim in lakes on the map right now, it’s likely that some water bodies will be frozen and this item will allow them to skate over it with new movement mechanics.
However, very little info is available on this item since a teaser was spotted on the Chapter 6 Season 1 key art which gave a sneak peek into an Ice Skates mechanic in the game.
