Rumors of a Fortnite x Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover are beginning to ramp up, as fans clamor for the iconic survival horror series to arrive on the island.

Epic’s long-running battle royale is no stranger to major collaborations, with Chapter 5 Season 3 alone featuring the Fallout series, Marvel’s Magneto, and even Pirates of the Caribbean. But, with Season 4 on the horizon, players are hoping there’s one more major surprise up the devs’ sleeves.

Is a FNAF crossover arriving in Fortnite?

There is currently no official confirmation that a Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover is planned in Fortnite. The devs of both games haven’t mentioned anything about a collab, but all of the rumors are pointing toward an August 6 release date.

This is because August 6 is the day that the v30.40 update is due to arrive, which is the final patch before Chapter 5 Season 4 drops.

Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover rumors explained

Five Nights at Freddy’s is celebrating its 10th anniversary in August, and the devs have been teasing a secret collab. This was originally planned for August 6, but the announcement will arrive one day earlier on August 5.

Since this is just one day before the last Fortnite update ahead of the new season, fans put two and two together and have speculated that the crossover being hinted at is with Fortnite.

Again, nothing has been officially confirmed, but it’s an interesting coincidence that both games’ plans have lined up like this. It would also make sense for the FNAF collab to arrive at this time, since Chapter 5 Season 4 is set to be another Mavel-themed season, leaving less room for other franchises to appear.

However, we’ll have to wait for the official reveal on August 5 to know whether Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to Fortnite, or if the mystery collab is with another series.

If the rumors turn out to be true, this would be the final major crossover before Chapter 5 Season 4, which is set to bring a brand-new Battle Pass and, if leaks are accurate, a special live event.
