How to enter a Chrome Vortex in Fortnite

The Chrome Vortex is a brand-new addition to Fortnite, and we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about it, including what it does and how you can enter it.

Fortnite features a variety of different activities that grant you XP so that you can unlock new cosmetic skins in the Battle Pass, and completing Weekly Quests is a great way to level up fast.

One of the Week 7 Quests in Chapter 3, Season 4 requires you to enter a Chrome Vortex. Since this is a new addition to the game, we’ll go over how you can get this done quickly.

What is Chrome Vortex in Fortnite?

The Chrome Vortex is a giant twister that turns objects and players into Chrome. You can walk into one from the ground or land in it after hopping out of the Battle Bus. Doing this will complete the Weekly Quest and grant you 20,000 XP.

After you get out of the Chrome Vortex, you’ll be Chrome-ified for a limited amount of time. Once that wears off, you can easily run back to the same twister in order to get the effect again.

Where to find a Chrome Vortex in Fortnite

You can find a Chrome Vortex in Fortnite by looking at the map at the start of the match. There will be two of them marked with white tornado symbols at different points on the island. We found them at Herald’s Sanctum and Chromejam Junction.

Chrome Vortex locations in Fortnite

Since they’re marked on the map, it won’t be difficult to locate them. While one of them will spawn at different locations on the island in each match, normally there is always a Chrome Vortex at Herald’s Sanctum.

While these stay on the map throughout the match, the closing storm may block your patch to them, making it impossible to complete this challenge. For that reason, we recommend visiting one right after you jump from the Battle Bus.

Since visiting one of these is a requirement for the Weekly Quests, you should be wary of enemy players within the vicinity of Chrome Vortexes. Enter one quickly and then leave before the competition gets intense.
