LEGO Fortnite: How to get Brute Scales

To get Brute Scales in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll have to find and kill Brutes. These hulking enemies will drop Brute Scales after being taken down.

Some players might also find Brute Scales when opening Chests in the Grasslands biome, including those in Caves. However, there’s no way to tell which Chests hold said item.

Where to find Brutes in LEGO Fortnite

The easiest way to find Brutes in LEGO Fortnite is to head to the Shores biome. They can also pop up randomly on the map. Players need to pay attention to the sound Brutes make when they stomp, and head in that direction. Since the maps are randomly generated, there’s no guaranteed way to find a Brute roaming in the map.

It’s worth noting each biome has a different variant of Brute. Grasslands’ Brutes drop one Brute Scale when defeated, but the ones in the Dry Valley biome drop Sand Brute Scales, and those in the Frostlands, Frost Brute Scales. You’ll need these materials to build Utilities and upgrade your village eventually, so keep that in mind.

How to defeat Brutes in LEGO Fortnite

Brutes make for tough enemies as they’re tanky and can dish out a ton of damage in LEGO Fortnite. They are the strongest foe in the game at the moment, so we recommend maintaining a fair bit of distance and using ranged weapons like crossbows. Make sure to dodge the boulders that these enemies will throw toward you and get out of the way when they charge at you.

We also recommend having an NPC companion armed with a sword to take the Brute down faster. Meowscles and Yeti are two villagers that have expertise in combat and will aid you against these powerful foes. They’ll keep the Brute busy so you can attack from a safe distance.
