How to get the Gangnam Style emote in Fortnite Season 5
Epic Games have added another dance and music video crossover to Fortnite in the form of a Gangnam Style emote. Here’s how you can get it for yourself, along with the new dance.
Fortnite isn’t known solely for its massive crossovers with franchises like Halo and Predator. They also tend to bring real-world pop culture to the game.
We’ve seen dances and music video crossovers from Doja Cat’s Say So and Megan Thee Stallion’s Savage. Now, it seems that the Gangnam Style dance emote is making its way to the battle royale.
How to get the Gangnam Style dance and emote in Fortnite
A few leaks emerged from ShiinaBR and HYPEX, which suggested that the Gangnam Style dance would be arriving in the game. These were coupled with an official tease from the Korean Fortnite account, which showed off the dance.
The teaser didn’t give a proper release date, but fans were able to put together that the dance and emote would both arrive in the Item Shop soon. Evidence of their arrival was found by leakers just a few hours before they went live.
Now, the Gangnam Style dance emote is finally available for you to purchase from the Item Shop. You don’t need to complete any challenge or quest to unlock it, so just head over there and spend 500 V-Bucks.
The emote is also based on PSY’s infamous music video, which racked up nearly 4 billion views and is one of the most-viewed YouTube videos of all time. You may remember the dance being a major trend around the world a few years ago.
Epic Games also made sure to include the song playing in the background, so that the dance feels complete. Though, this is to be expected, since it would be weird if they left it out but still had the dance and emote in the game.
While Gangnam Style isn’t the most relevant meme anymore, it’s still a fun little addition that we hope stays in the item shop for a while. Make sure you get your hands on it soon, just in case.
